We stayed 4 nights in this lovely property where everything is perfect. The owners are very welcoming and do their best to satisfy you. The rooms are simple but offer all the expected confort, from the great bedding, the space of 16sqm. You have a fridge in the room. It is centrally located and very calm. The buffet breakfast wasn't available because of the imposed safety coronavirus measures but it was still delicious with only home made products. You have a parking just in front of the hotel. You reach the beach and most restaurants in 5mins walk. I will definitely return. The only point which can easily be improved is the quality of the wifi.
A very nice welcome and all services pointed out. Plenty of people engaged in the local pastime.....petanque in the square. Nice fresh breakfast with plenty of choice in the morning. Well recommended.
We had several meals in Ile Rousse before we discovered this restaurant which is situated at the hotel and is open to non residents like us. It may look a little basic from the outside but we would recommend you try it. There is good choice on the 2 set menus as well as other dishes. The service was prompt and efficient. The food came quickly, was well cooked and tasty and the portion sizes were generous. The prices were very reasonable and we felt that this was the best meal we had eaten during our stay in the town.
Rooms are comfortable, evening meals very good, towels a bit thin. Friendly staff. Free Wi-Fi at a reasonable speed. Close to the beach and shops. You don't get luxury here, but it does a good job. Recommended.
Had a very enjoyable stay Hôtel le Grillon and if you too enjoy staying in a traditional French hotel this is for you. The rooms are fairly small and are in decorated in a refreshing contemporary style and have air conditioning. The restaurant serves the most wonderful traditional home cooking, we were on half board including breakfast and happily ate there every evening of our three day stay. We were able to choose between two menus €16.50 or €19.50 both have many excellent choices, our best meal was the evening they had a “ the special ” of “ Coq au Vi ” I don’t think we have ever had better. BTW the portions are generous. Every meal was sheer a delight! Dinner is only served between 19:00 – 20:30 make sure you are down in good time to get a choice of table. Half board is excellent value you would find it hard to find better cooking than at Hôtel le Grillon. This is a family run business and has been in the same family since 1930’s. The bar and restaurant have pictures of how it used to be in the past and the family were pleased to talk to us about these pictures whilst we were enjoying a drink at the bar. Parking is on a short, dead end side street alongside the hotel not on the main street in front of the hotel restaurant. One criticism was our bathroom towels were old and rather thin not that this in anyway spoilt our stay.…
