We stayed there 5 nights and we absolutely loved it. The staf is so nice and helpful. They really treated us like family. It's a 3min walk to the beach (amazing beach) and they have some dogs and cats who welcome you. We took yoga...More
This hostel has the worst vibes of any hostel I have ever been to. The owner is a total misogynist, ask him about surf conditions and he will basically tell you to "go suntan with the other girls." and when someone basically sexually assaults you...More
I recently stayed at Don Jon’s for a good friend’s wedding. I had never been to Costa Rica – the furthest South I had traveled was Mexico and that was either on a cruise or in a timeshare. Needless to say I didn’t know quite...More
Great place to meet other travelers! It's close to the beach. There aren't personal safes for things but you can leave small valuables at the desk. Can be noisy at night. Lots of hammocks to hang out and relax in.
The place is located at what i would say the heart of Santa Teresa. A quick walk down to the beach for check if there is good surf. At Don Jon’s there is a special family like atmosphere, where everybody is welcome. A lot of...More

Thank you! The Don Jon*s team quickly took care of the bed bug situation replacing mattreses and fumigating the room. Unfortuantely this is something we do not have control over as it was travelers who brought us the little bed bug friends. As for the victim of the bugs, we of course apoligized and again we are sorry and wish it would have never happened. We are in the jungle a super natural setting full of life and with this brings all sorts of blood sucking animals which we all have to live with weather we like it or not. Also warning to all travelers, there are plenty of mosquitos, ticks, fleas, spiders, scorpions, bees, snakes, etc. so beware before you decide to come to the jungle.
