Simple bungalow/cabin style lodgings located in a lush jungle garden just off the main road in Santa Teresa. It is a 2 minute walk from the beach but the hotel is located 50yrds or so off the main road so the dust and noise that is common with many beachside establishments is not a problem here. The cabins are great. Bed is super comfortable and the porch area with a hammock was awesome to work from. the WiFi was quick enough for me to do some video calls in the morning. Christophe (the owner) is a super nice guy and has some good recommendations for things to do as well as cheap laundry service. Overall, really excellent! If I was back in ST in the future I'd definitely stay here again.
50 dollars for a murky water swimming pool (plus a floating piece of excrement), no care, no life, no other living space but our room (with no hot water)... Seeing how they show their hotel online, it seems they are selling another thing, they are not honest. It's cheating (for 50 bucks). Next time we'd better take an hostel, to get the same services.
We arrived in Santa Teresa and were in love with the vibe but sad at the dust and noise. Finding these bungalows set off the road where instead of traffic you hear birds and instead of dust you breathe fresh air. The gardens are beautifully tended to, the pool sparkling, salsa the dog is the perfect amount of friendly and the one green eyed one blue eyed cat is the softest, fluffiest kitty. The owners are sweet, the shower the best we have had in Costa Rica. Nothing to fault.
The Luz de Luna is perfect for a couple, family or group of friends looking for a place to stay in Santa Teresa. The little bungalows are charming with all of the necessities. The bathroom is clean and beds are comfortable. There is a little balcony at each bungalow where you can practice yoga, answer some emails, read a book on the hammak, or simply watch the wildlife around you. There is a resident monkey, that comes out once every few days, cats, dogs, squirrels and a variety of beautiful birds that sing throughout the day. We saw about ten spider monkeys passing through during our stay! It’s super close to the beach, a bunch of restaurants, walking distance from the perfect surfing spots for beginners, surfing shops, a grocery store and bank. There is a great pool that has little nooks of shade where you can read, and parts with long segments of sun. The owner is very accommodating and can guide you to anywhere you need to go. …
We stayed 11 nights at Luz de Luna and had a wonderfull time there! The appartements are really nice and clean. The pool area with all the palm trees, plants and flowers is just amazing! It has a perfect location: just 3 minutes away from the beach and far away from the dusty and noisy road in Santa Teresa, so it is super quiet there! Also the owner (Chris) was super nice and friendly!
