oh dear or dear. where do I start? For hotel read more like glorified hostel by western standards. Reception area is vast but freezing cold, dark and dingy with receptionists wearing coats to keep warm!! I can see why. My heating didn't work first night and room was freezing and then following morning shower was also freezing cold. a forensic inspection is as follows: carpet dirty and marked, a large piece of glass fell off the shower sliding door narrowly missing my foot, walls shabby and dirty, windows filthy, bare plaster showing by the entrance door to room on the inside, wallpaper marked and peeling off, cheap and dirty furniture apart from a green chair/lounger, repairs with polyfilla on walls but then left and not even sanded down or repainted. Not ONE word of English spoken by any hotel staff who are generally unhelpful and unfriendly and unable to even order you a taxi without referring to a dictionary or the internet to get even the basic words. Or is it all an act? people smoking freely around the building AND ALSO in the lifts. This is dangerous!! No laundry service/dry cleaning, no business section/quiet area...this hotel only marginally better than the one I stayed in at Quindao (the Four Lofts) ..a terrible hotel..which exceeded to even reach the basic standard of a hotel. No restaurant/coffee shop. Enough said and really thankful that I wasn't picking up the bill to stay here.…
