I stayed here for a weekend and it was awesome. So quiet and beautiful. There are multiple hikes, I did a long one by myself. Because of that, the manager gave me a walkietalkie in case of an emergency. But it was very easy to hike and I enjoyed the wonderful views. I had a really nice time and I... More

We had an amazing two nights at the African Game lodge. We had a very warm welcome from Monwa and we were very comfortable in the cottage that we stayed in. Our children really enjoyed the wildlife and the freedom to run around. We especially enjoyed visiting the rescued cheetahs and watching them being fed. It is a happy, relaxed... More

Wow, what a place but not for the faint hearted. The dirt road is quite tricky and was a 45 minute drive from the lovely town of Montagu. The cottages are very african and delightful with stoops overlooking some of the 4.2 hectares that belong to the Game Lodge. Take it from me, that a gin and tonic on the... More

Very relaxed and friendly staff. Cottage suited us well. Loved the cry of the jackal at night and eland walking around the camp during the morning. Tour guide on the game drive was excellent and had a very good knowledge of nature. A good place to enjoy nature. Loved the breakfast that was served on Saturday & Sunday morning.

Lovely cottage. Stunning out look. Everything that you need. Stayed 3 nights which was perfect. Have booked another 3 nights in January to bring the kids. They will love the put put! Enjoyed the walking and being able to explore the reserve with our 4 x 4. Friendly service throughout by Morne and Monwa.

Driving through the winding hills, we got to our simple but comfortable cabin by night to be greeted by an amazing array of stars providing the only light in this off the grid private reserve. Apart from the crackling fire in the braai, silence was the norm for the next 3 days as we spotted eland, kudu and many other... More

Lovely drive on a good dirt road (we've an ordinary little car). Monwa, the very friendly manager met us on arrival and pointed out our chalet. The lodge is off the grid, so solar panels provide the electricity in the self-catering chalets. Monwa led us later to the cheetah enclosure to see the 2 cheetahs being fed. Unfortunately the path... Thank you for the review. The electrical issue was sorted out immediately. Unfortunately these things happen when you least expect it. There is however a reset button to silence the alarm should it happen through the night. I do not think guests understand how much hard work is put into making the chalets as comofortable as they are 30km into... More

My partner and I spent 2 nights in this wonderful place. Monwa, was brilliant. He was so welcoming and friendly as we arrived and throughout our stay. Breakfast was great and there is a braai on the stoep for you to cook your dinner/lunch on, as there is literally nothing for miles and the nearest town is Montagu. Which is... More

We arrived on a rainy day and our host (Mr. Monwa) was very kind to send us an E-mail and attempted to call us to inform us of the weather conditions. We had no 4x4 car but in spite of the rain we had no difficulty reaching the Lodge. Down here you are really back to basics in a beautiful... More
