We choose accomodation in Altos Cano Hondo, upper part of this resort. The rooms are very nice, with beuatiful view into the surroundings. You can swim in the river, which builds cascade of pools. The restaurant is great, food excellent. The hotel is located only approx 800 m from small port, where you can rent a boat and do the...

There are two parts to this hotel, which operate somewhat independently. We chose the newer, upper part, which was a good choice as we had a room with a beautiful view. It also meant that we could escape from the day trippers, who are an unfortunate feature of this place. The location of the hotel is charming, surrounded by countryside...

There is a river going through th hotel, in cascades running to the central pool. The restaurant is quite big with nice views of the cascdes an pools. Our room was a bit higher up, but dark and without much of a view. There was a working bath with hot water in the shower but not at the sink. The...

I read books and found places to sketch around the property while my husband went to the Parque Los Haitises and kayaked in the bay. The room was lovely with a lovely view of the bay and the park. The decor is...

For those that wrote a negative review, I have to wonder if they actually read the website? It does a great job describing the property, location, and amenities. If you were expecting it to be different than advertised, that is a problem with your expectations, not the property itself and you shouldn't have given bad marks for that! I'm not...

We got here at about 3pm, we saw some people and thought that the place was really full , but they where here for the day pass, so we are stuck alone in the middle of nowhere, food is late and not that good , the "crystal clear" natural pools, are just made to look natural i bet, and they...

We went to caño hondo for a nice relaxing weekend with the family and booked a room in altos de caño hondo. The room was a loft type of room, quite large with an incredible view of national park los haitises. Dinner and breakfast is included in the price, i would give the food 4 out of 5 but everything...

Even if I had been able to book a room, I wouldn't have trusted it to be there for me when I arrived. I emailed the hotel 3 questions I wanted answered before booking a room. It was weeks before I got all 3 answered and by that time there were no rooms available. I first received an email response...
