The owners are lovely and friendly (and very knowledgeable regarding the area and Tongariro Crossing). We purchased the Freedom Package which was great. Bad weather meant that we had to postpone our crossing walk by 1 day, but it was fantastic the next day. The transport to and from the track was well organized and punctual, the lunch was excellent,...

We stopped off to vies Mount Ruapehu and were so lucky the weather cleared up the mountain for get views. The Adventure lodge made the stop-off affordable and gave us a comfortable night with the faciltites we needed. Lucky for us the other guests were quiet after 10 pm as there was no sound proofing between interior walls. Staff were...

We stayed in the studio access room. Our room was very nice and felt like a ski lodge room. Very clean and cant say enough good things about the owners. Breakfast was perfect. Shuttles and information about the crossing is great. Recommend this place to everyone. We ate at Elvins both nights. The food was awesome and the atmosphere perfect....

hi there and thanks for this review - I like your attitude to the college try! Elvins is a good place to eat especially the night before the crossing - hearty meals are always going to go down well.

We stayed in one of the motel units, so we had our own bathroom and a little (and I do mean little) kitchenette area. The bathroom had decent water pressure, and you have your own water tank, so no worries about running out of hot water when everyone tries to take a shower at the same time. Despite the size...

Wonderful accommodation in the heart of the National Park. Room had all the amenities you would expect from this kind of property and price range. A decent breakfast was provided and then John our host dropped off the group at the start of the alpine crossing, and picked us up at the end (an extra charge of NZD 40 applies...

Super friendly place and great value. We were in the lodge part which is like a hostel, with shared bathroom. The rooms are basic but adequate and the owners run a great service if you want to do the famous Transalpine Crossing. They are very helpful and gave us loads of good tips about activities for when it rained. Overall...

The Adventure Lodge package for the Tongariro Crossing is excellent. It takes all the stress out of organising the weekend. Accommodation, meals and transport to and from the trail are all taken care of. Friendly, welcoming staff, great food and a range of options for rooms to stay. Basic but clean and sufficient amenities. Had a great weekend.
