Perfect little place to stay if you like your accommodation with charm and character. Tiny cottage but had everything we needed - with the added benefit of an amazing view, a very friendly cat and lovely host who took us on a tour of the glow worm caves on the property and walked us around the farm. Our two boys...

Angus met us in arrival and made us very welcome. The cabin was perhaps a little more rustic than we'd expected but it was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. There were basic cooking facilities including a two hob stove, microwave, fridge, crockery and cutlery. Despite the strong winds blowing around the cabin we had a good nights sleep...

Staying at Te Tiro felt like being a million miles from anywhere, despite it only being about 10 windy kilometres from Waitomo Caves. Amenities-wise it's not five star accommodation, but it's in a stunning location and is really something special. Some of the highlights were: - Stunning views--we'd had some crazy weather on the night we stayed which made for...

What amazing views. Great hosts and the place has its own private glowworm area. Hosts recommended the Huhu for dinner and I must say it is an excellent p[ace to dine, The cabins are quaint and I loved that the bathrooms are separate from the living space. This was my favorite place to stay in NZ.

This accommodation was a little studio with a nice view. The bathroom was outside but close by. The view was a great reason to stay. Plan to get there in daylight - not only is it expected in New Zealand, but it will make the accommodation easier to find once you turn off of the main road.

I really liked this cute little B&B, the lady was really friendly and brought us all our breakfast stuff and her cat (ratbag?) was friendly too and liked to hang out with us in the room. I liked that the bathroom had a heater, thats a good idea. The only downfall about this place was the 10k drive from Waitomo...

We arrived earlier than check-in time but when we arrived there was a friendly memo on the main enterance door welcoming us. After spending a night, because the area was ao beautiful we decided to stay in and walked around the farm area. Sheeps were so friendly and the massive farm was great to walk around with a cup of...

Te Tiro is something special. Our schedule meant that we drove at night to get there, just so that we could wake up to the spectacular view. Amazing!! Cold in winter, but the cottage was cozy & warm. Super friendly cat has lots of love to give & is a very efficient lap warmer. Outside bathroom is heated & shouldn't...

This place is incredible with fab hosts and the most incredible views across almost the whole of the North Island on a clear day. It is simple but clean and comfortable. Because it is in the wilds you will get bugs - if you don't do bugs you are in the wrong country! :) The kitchen amenities are very simple...

We stayed in this very cute cabin for one night. The view was beautiful from the cabin and it felt so nice to be tucked away in this petite home away from home. We found enough equipment to make a simple meal and spent a very content night here with a special adventure to their own private glow worm grotto....

“Te Tiro is located about 15 mins out of the town centre along a winding road - it is best to find it during daylight - the owners will give you good directions either way”

“Both cabins are the same. Be aware that they are small and the bathrooms are separate but very close by. Do not expect luxurious but come with a sense of adventure. It was difficult to take good photos of the interior of the cabins but there are good ones on the website.”
