Stayed in a 2 bed room for 1 night. It had a closet with hangers and shelves, which I found very useful. Beds were very comfy and the showers had hot water, good pressure, and were clean. The kitchen was adequate. Note that there are no ovens.

Came here with the kiwi experience. It has a wonderful big kitchen and living area downstairs. It is single beds which is a welcome break for backpackers. My only concern is that it was a very big cold building which was hard to heat up. I would stay again if I was in the area for a night or 2

Our room wasn't the worst but definitely low budget and you would only want to spend one night here. We had a spiders nest on our ceiling (which they sent a housekeeper up to deal with so that was nice). The shower had... stuff growing on the shower head and the water overflowed into the rest of the bathroom. It...

Stayed here on a last minute booking following an emergency in the caves that caused us to miss our bus to Auckland. It suited our needs for the night in providing a place to sleep and a roof over our heads. The bed wasn't the most comfortable however the room was clean, warm and we were given one on the...

This hostel was very nice. Clean and tidy and well maintained. There are only two showers which creates a bit of a queue and the front desk is a little disorganised but these are only minor points. The kitchen is clean and well stocked. Perfect for a one night stay passing through Waitomo

This place is fine for young travellers on a tight budget. The accommodation was pretty shabby and not very well maintained, but okay all the same. My wife and I stayed in a double room; there was a radiator for drying swim suits and towels which was a plus and they do a good breakfast in the restaurant beside reception....

All you need to know is last minute Easter Weekend this was one of the only places available on the entire north island outside of Auckland. The reason for that is clear this place is overpriced even if the amenities worked. However our private room was $110 and had no hot water the old TV didn't work and was otherwise...

We had a mixup with the rooms when we arrived as a group. It took nearly 40 minutes to sort out. The bathrooms were filthy with mould in the shower and water from the shower flowing into the toilet area. I would only stay here if I was absolutely desperate.

Lots of groups staying & the place wasn't kept clean enough to keep up. It was like everything had been built in the 80's & nothing done since. No WiFi & inadequate kitchen equipment & I had to wash some of it before use (not happened before). Kept flip-flops on in shower (hot) & didn't really want to touch anything....

Came with the kiwi bus, the ladies behind the desk seemed put out by our arrival even though we basically keep her in business, but we interrupted thier chat so I suppose it was our own fault. I got allocated a twin room with a girl I didn't know, asked to move to the chalets with my friends where there...
