Walked in off the street, paid $400 pesos a night about $40 for a bungalow with king bed, super clean, not deluxe but right next door to Casa de las Tortugas, with the best restaurant and beach club in Holbox. Cant wait to go back. Used the kayaks for free, they have camping also right on the beach. Nice place...

Save some money and camp but don't expect a comfortable night or any sleep. Get a room maybe if you can afford. Nice communal lounge with some good books. Showers/toilets outside we're pretty dirty and full of mosquitoes so be prepared to get bitten as you do your stuff! Staff couldn't speak English but helpful as they could be with...

Who can go wrong with a beachfront property on a limited budget? Casa Maya is a little gem at the right price, for those of us backpacking on a boot strap. It was nice to have a self-catering kitchen although when I was there I was hard pressed just to find a fork or a clean plate! Dishes were in...

We arrived to Isla Holbox without reservations & lucked out with Hotel Casa Maya de Jose Lima. They also have a hostel about 1/2 a block behind them, so make sure you arrive at the right business. If you prefer to catch your own fish, you can do so, & cook it in the communal kitchen that is fully equipped....

We stayed four nights over the New Year's holiday. Our group was myself and my husband, our two children, and my mother. We were on a budget, but were very comfortably accommodated in one room with a double bed, a single bed, and hammocks for the kids. The room was spacious-enough, with plenty of storage room. We appreciated a lot...

There is a communcal are with TV inside the dorm and a bathroom with two showers, two toilettes and two sinks. The communcal area is very cosy and has a family feel. This was my third time staying at Casa Maya and this time I stayed for 9 weeks. Hubby joined me after 7 weeks. This quaint and quiet Mayan bed and breakfast with 5 rooms is a home away from home, not noisy as the larger hotels. Casa means house, and that it is, very homey and tranquil, and it has extended...

This hotel has being a bad experience for me. They offered a contiental brekfast and they didn't have any in the 2 days I staied here. The rooms are ok, but the bed looks really dirty. If you wanto to rest forget about it, there is a night club next to the hotel and you here the "bum" "bum" from...

Casa Maya was wonderful, although it took me a few days to become comfortable with the set-up. The rooms are located off of a central living area and kitchen which is shared by the staff. The rooms are kept very clean by a wonderful woman (who also did my laundry) and the air-conditioning was refreshing after a long day in...

I believe in being very candid when I write a review. How else am I going to help a future traveler? Here's the deal. If you're looking for a Marriott this is not the place for you. Of course if you're looking for a chain hotel Isla Holbox is not for you either. So we have that out of the...
