Overall, good value for money, cheap! Even without the lessons, I would come and stay here again (: I was here for basic Spanish lessons, stayed for the week. They were rebooting their service offerings/ class types, and had offered a special package for 'early birds'. The place is nice two building house, complete with a backyard and swimming pool!... Today celebrates my one-year anniversary living in Mexico and I spent the first 2 weeks of it at the Spanish Cat. After this past year of learning Spanish and Mexican culture, I am still convinced that my time at the Spanish Cat was one of my best decisions this year. It was not only the perfect way for a Spanish... More

I have never felt compelled to write an on-line review of any place until now. I am an avid traveler and a social studies teacher of fifteen years from Minnesota. It's been my dream to learn to speak Spanish more fluently and thus, I looked for language schools in Mexico. My experience at the Spanish Cat in Tepoztlan was absolutely... More

Having recently returned from The Spanish Cat I am anxious to write this review, as this was one of the most memorable experiences in all my world travel experiences. Most importantly the Spanish instruction was superb and I came away with enough information to last for years. It does take a great deal of work to continue to learn a... More

We just returned from a truly incredible 2-week stay at the Spanish Cat. We stayed in the main house, which we found to be spacious, comfortable, and clean--it may not be 5-star but it is certainly far,far better than a dormitory or hostel! We were pleasantly surprised at the delicious food that was served and delighted by the charming staff... More

Tepoztlan is the antidote to touristy San Miguel de Allende, and an alternative to bustling big cities like Cuernavaca and Puebla. The Spanish Cat Language school offers both an excellent Spanish language program as well as lodging in two large homes complete with swimming pools (not Olympic size but sufficient for a quick swim on a hot day) and spacious... Finding a Spanish language school and lodging/meals on the Internet can be a daunting endeavor. But The Spanish Cat in Tepoztlan, Mexico is an outstanding experience for those who are beginners, mid-levels and advanced. The villa that houses the school is beautiful and even better than advertised. Tepoz is a wonderful and safe village with an astounding market life. The... More

Just returned from a month at The Spanish Cat and my stay far exceeded my expectations. The accommodations were lovely, the staff was attentive and warm and the teachers were incredible. The teachers were very well prepared and provided constant encouragement. Tepoztlan is a charming town, very safe and the people were quite friendly. Our weekend excursions, led by el... More

My experience at The Spanish Cat Language School in Tepoztlan was wonderful . I spent a month there in March/April and loved being able to have all classes outdoors under an umbrella in a gorgeous setting. The teachers were very skilled, and they made sure that all students spoke Spanish in class. The school's approach really helped me to improve... More

I didn't know what to expect. I had looked at a lot of language schools, mostly in the cities. But the pictures of this one intrigued me. And I wanted to have space to relax. So, I arrived...OMG, the pictures don't do it justice. I ended up staying in the room shown on the website. It's even nicer than advertised!... More
