#2 of 6 B&Bs / Inns in Kensington
This historic home was built in 1915 by local merchant Parmenus Orr and retains much of the original ambiance through thoughtful renovations, hardwood floors and period furnishings. Many of the family's original furnishings, antiques, photographs and oil paintings, painted by Orr family descendants, hang proudly on our walls. A large veranda on the front of the house is available for "old fashion" relaxing

This place is a diamond in the rough!! Angie & Greg are the most amazing hosts!! Anything we needed, they were there! Lovely old Victorian with modern bathrooms. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms are very clean. They let us know all the interesting places to go on the island and served us a delicious breakfast. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay in PEI. !!!

We really enjoyed our weekend stay. Greg and Angie are great hosts. Very helpful and the accommodations are spotless and obviously well cared for and loved. Breakfast was great and they were great to adapt the menu to suit. I would happily recommend this inn to anyone seeking a clean and quiet place to stay while in PEI

Everything was perfect! It was more like a hotel, in the skin of a Victorian BNB, except with better beds and nicer linen. If you want the classic, RELAXED) old-timey Canadian experience (with modern bathrooms in each room), THIS is your BNB. The breakfast was better than what you’d get at any hotel or restaurant. The pancakes looked good enough for Gordon Ramsay to approve of, AND THEY WON’T MAKE YOU WORRY ABOUT BEING GLUTEN FREE. This is a HUGE deal for people like me! There ARE dogs that live downstairs, but we NEVER HEARD A PEEP, except when we arrived, and they saw the car, from the basement. If you dislike dogs, it’s NOT a problem (you’ll never see them, EXCEPT if you maybe ask). I got to pet dogs, and chase Loki, making this an automatic 5-STAR. Just stay here. Just do it. Very very quiet and relaxing. If you have special needs kids/family with you, I feel like the owners could handle it, with no issue. The rooms have a small TV and proper cable. Rooms are not wheelchair friendly, but the main floor is. You can come or go whenever you please!

If your are looking for a fantastic B & B then you have found what you are looking for at the Home Place Inn in Kensington, PEI. From the moment we arrived we were treated like family! Greg greeted us in the driveway and helped with bringing our luggage in. He showed us our room ( which was clean, airy and had absolutely everything we needed). We spent 4 nights here and had absolutely no problems. We sat during the evenings in the parlour where there are a wide variety of board games available, free coffee and tea and great conversations to be had with Greg and Angie and the other guests. If you preferred you could sit on the covered front porch during your stay. Greg and Angie are very knowledgeable about the island and we welcomed their suggestions for places to go and things to see that weren’t in the tourist brochures. Now I must tell you about the breakfast(s) that are included with your stay. Angie makes the most divine triple layer pancakes with whipped cream, berries, and sprinkled with icing sugar ( also served with maple syrup ). Her omelettes are light and fluffy and her hash browns never disappointed. There are more selections to choose from as well and we tried them all. We were sad to leave the Homeplace Inn but hope to return on our next trip to PEI. Thanks again to the most warm, welcoming and gracious hosts I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

This very nice, old, clean home was an excellent choice to stay. It is beautiful all around. The beds are very comfortable. I will never forget opening my door and having the delicious smell of our home cooked breakfast hit me! And to top it all off the hosts (Angie and Greg) were extremely nice and friendly. Easy 5/5
