We ended up in Tarbert last Friday after driving to Claonaig for a ferry that did not exist. We could not face the drive back to Glasgow so decided to stay the night and travel the next morning. The hotel were able to give us a family room which was lovely and looked out over the harbour, it had been...

This was a Christmas gift of two nights on the hotel's converted barge. Breakfast was included and the bottle of wine and chocolate treats awaiting your arrival was a lovely touch. The rooms are very comfortable and the main window overlooking the harbour is like another wide-screen TV in your room (with the local swans appearing like a 3D David...

What a lovely experience. We stayed on the barge. It was an amazing experience. The room was stunning. I'd do it again without a doubt. We also had dinner in the hotel. The food at dinner was absolutely delicious. The breakfast was amazing. I'm gluten intolerant and with no prior warning they accommodated me with ease. The staff were the...

Just home from spending two nights as a birthday treat in the Loch Riddon room on the barge, a beautifully decorated room with on suite wet room (you wouldn't believe you were on a barge). Easily the best view on the barge from this room, beautifully decorated and loved the wine and treats in the room on arrival. We ate...

First time but will definitely be back. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the wine and homemade treats on arrival just perfect. We dined in the hotels restaurant and the food was first class, unfortunately we were there at the same time as the very rude couple who bullied the waitress, I can only assume a. They didn't have the...

My two daughters paid for my husband and I to stay in the Barge, as a Christmas Present. We had the biggest room "Loch Tarbert" on the barge which is the one that is shown on the pictures on the web site. What a stay we had. Though our room wasn't ready when we arrived, James The Receptionist on duty,...

We had one night in the barge, we had the smallest of the four but we actually preferred this. It was really cosy and had the best views out of all rooms right across the harbour. The room itself was really warm, homely and modern. The bathroom was small but again really modern and nice the only thing that was...

Brilliant idea to convert an old barge into four fabulous rooms! If an old boat could get a five star rating this one deserves it.. The Sea Bed restaurant in the Anchor Hotel is serving the best food in the area.. An amazing meal and a great wine and whisky selection to finish off the day...
