We were a small group celebrating a birthday. The hospitality we received was fantastic, warm and welcoming. The public rooms are welcoming with space in lounges or at the bar. But the unforgettable experience was the dinner. The hotel put together a fantastic menu and the chef, Ross delivered. The seafood cassoulet, all from local produce was one of the...

Stayed here for one night as guest of birthday party. Room pretty small but lovely view to the loch and well furnished. Dinner was superb. In a party of 12 no one had a single complaint about their food which was imaginatively cooked and presented. Very well run hotel.

Had a double blowout on the damaged and dodgy stretch of road 150yds south of the hotel whilst looking for somewhere to have lunch. Staff Drew and Matthew were right on the ball. Managed to sort lunch for us even though lunch was just finishing. Whilst we had our meal (which was very good), Drew made calls to source the...

Had a great meal, really enjoyed it for the most part. I ordered my steak well done and it came out rare, which I didn't complain about, I just ate the corners and passed it onto my brother. I just wasn't in the mood to cause a fuss and was looking forward to dessert and a calypso coffee. We were then...

The staff was very friendly upon check in and the food was phenomenal! However, my husband and I had an early ferry to catch and were told by the wait staff to check with the staff before we left to see if we had any charges. We went down at 6:30 am to leave the key and check out but...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A small, family-run establishment, the West Loch Hotel dates from around 1780, and is well known locally for having some of the best food in the area. We are well placed for guests passing through, and for those wishing to spend longer in the area, exploring Argyll & the Isles. Ideally located for people heading on the whisky trail to Islay (just minutes from the ferry), most guests find our large whisky selection the perfect start to their adventure! A charming, former coaching inn, the hotel has been sympathetically modernised over the years, retaining many of its original features. Our rooms are dog-friendly, with a choice of double or single rooms, and we have also got family rooms available for those travelling with children. Able to cater for small events, from birthday parties to weddings, we always go the extra mile to make sure your special occasion is extra special. ... more   less
