Torn seating, tatty furnishings, cold rooms, mirrors too high to see through (I am 5'2") hairdrier when requested but no easy plug connection and no mirror. Cooked breakfast bacon was twice cooked, (eggs were O.K.) and pastries were stale. Coffee was undrinkable and tea was made in a cup - ugh!) Staff were very helpful and provided a tiny heater... I booked in last night for a two-night stay. The room was tired and old, and not as clean as I would hope for. It was, however, late so I bit the bullet and decided to stay. The double bed looked as if it had been dragged from a skip and the decor was, to quote Mary Berry, informal... Even... More

Today when we went for a carvery, the door with a clear noth that stated to close the door was alway left open and we had to gey up seven times to close it. This made the food cold and unedable, in addition the scampie was uncooked. When we asked for an appology from the manager he laughed at us!... More

Stayed in room 26, which had a single and double bed. It was all fairly tatty but I'd read some reviews and was expecting that. Paid £50 for bed and breakfast so thought it appropriate to the price paid. Didn't look too closely as I only spent around 15 minutes in the room before heading out to meet friends. On... More

This could be a really great place but it has not had any money spent on it in years. The whole place is tired, tatty and not that clean. The building is full of character so a real shame the owners don't update it.

Checked in recently for 1 night after arriving at BHX and before travelling south the next day Our room was on 2nd floor. Room looked okay and tidy. Nice big breakfast with a good choice of foods. Direct in the town centre.

Checked in recently, our room was on 2nd floor. Room looked okay and tidy but a few things need sorting. Only 1 lamp out of 3 worked, the bathroom fan didn't work, the bath plug had a hole in it, so we had to scrunch a shampoo sachet into the hole. Loose Wires behind the wash basin, a nailed on... Beautiful building but quite creepy at night. We were 4 staying and were given 2 rooms, room 14 for mum and dad and 11 for me and my daughter...not to sure why we needed 2 with our room having beds enough for 4. Staff were all lovely and very attentive!! Breakfast was ok, the sausages weren't very nice, tasted like... More

Stayed for just one night with my Dad here - didn't spend much time inside as we were out and about. We were in a bit of a hurry when we got in as we'd driven for hours through lots of traffic and had somewhere to be. When we arrived there was no receptionist to be found, and the family... More
