The hotel was owned by a family, it was very clean and an impressive building more traditional than your corporate hotels. Room was large and had air conditioning and a small fridge. Continental breakfast in the morning.
I really liked this hotel. It was a little tricky to find because of the windy narrow cobbled streets. The owners were friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Lovely slightly old fashioned furnishings. Our room overlooked roofs to the river. Very comfortable bed. We had the continental breakfast, which was fine, it consisted of cereals, croissants, rolls ,bread, ham and cheese, pots of coffee, milk, water and juice. Only a couple of things- they don’t have a lift. They offered to carry our suitcases up to 2nd floor. There was no hairdryer or fridge and only a tiny bin in the bathroom . But on the whole a great base close to the river and restaurants. …
As you might expect, the pousada was full of character and with lots of lovely little nooks and crannies. There are pleasant gardens with a swimming pool if the weather is hot and stunning views of the town from the terrace. Parking is plentiful. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a sitting area. Our only quibble was that the water for baths and showers was not very hot. The walk down to the town is pleasant but a bit steep on the way up but it was easy to get a taxi back after we had dinner in the evening. Breakfast was good though we did have a disappointing dinner one evening. All the staff were delightful, friendly and helpful.…
We spent one night here. The room was large and the bathroom huge, especially by European standards. The room was very clean. I had some wifi issues but I have those at home as well. We had secure bike parking. And a good restaurant rec plus a nice breakfast. I'm not sure why this hotel is a 2 star as it is comparable to most of the 3 stars I've stayed in. So nice people who really like their town.…
Clean and comfortable, breakfast and Wi-Fi included, close to the river, where you'll find good restaurants and a nice walk afterwards, in this nice town. Rooms are comfortable and bathroom well maintained, no elevator, which for us was not an issue.
