Excellent historic hotel. get a room in the historic part up front, rather than the bland tower out back. historic rooms have a private balcony overlooking the Fjord. The dinner buffet is excellent, and as a hotel guest you wil be treated to the best window tables right up front with the awesome view.

So beautiful, the view is incredible, the fjord, the hotel, the food...everything is perfect. See the details of the hotel, walk by the fjord, dinner at the window. Embrace that amazing place that is so well preserved

The setting of this hotel is just amazing, right by the famous Sognefjord. Make sure you get a room in the old bolding, as the new building looks a bit sad (and has no fjord view). Service was excellent too!

Stayed for the Balejazz weekend and loved it! My room was perfect because of the view (the famous Sognefjord), the furnitures are simple and just as what needed for a short stay. Breakfast was good too. Service wise, it was excellent! A seasonal hotel, they are closed on some months and opens every May.. So I recommend calling first!

I could live here! We were lucky enough to get rooms in the original hotel and the view was breathtaking. We had a corner room and it looked out to the fjord and mountains. The dinner provided each night was buffet style and everything was fresh and delicious. The town of balestrand is small, so we were able to walk...

Excellent choice and variety of good quality locally sourced food. Brilliant location and clean rooms. I would try for a room in the old building if I went again. Great central location, lots of trips available. Only complaint is the cost of beer and wine.

This is possibly the only big hotel to stay at in Balestrand. All the common areas are grand, the staff are very helpful and friendly, and overall we had a very comfortable stay here. The restaurant has the most incredible view and many reception rooms to sit and have tea/ coffee with a book. The rooms though are very dated....

Lovely rooms, excellent food and wonderful views. We have visited 7 times and only illness has stopped us going back again. A real home from home. Thanks to...

A beautiful enchanting unique hotel set on the edge of the Fjiords in Balestrand. This lovely family run hotel is built mainly of wood and has hosted many famous guests, including King Olav. The cuisine is excellent. A very quiet and peaceful location with country walks in breathing scenery. Some of the guests rooms require updating, but the main rooms...
