We spent 8 night is Santa Maria a Poneta with a 1-yo boy. The place is just excellent. Perfect location close to the Chianti small roads and only 30-60 mins drive to most important places. The rooms are renovated and located in the heart of a beautiful farm, with grass, trees and amazing view of the area's vineyards. Our room...

Situated within easy reach of Pisa, Florence, Siena and San Gimignano, and with stunning views over the surrounding countryside, Santa Maria a Poneta is as serene and magical an oasis as you could wish to find in the heart of Tuscany. Centred around a small country church dating back to the Early Middle Ages, the old farm buildings were restored...

We stayed at Santa Maria a Poneta in the last week of Aug '09. We brought along our 7 month old daughter and we could not have wished for more. This is a lovely small complex of apartments (5 in total) surrounded by beautifully kept gardens. When you arrive you are given a keyring for the electric gates that open...

this was our second stay at this location. Riccardo and Susanne are welcoming hosts and the poneta property is beautifully maintained. There are 5 separate apartments each quite private, as well as a shared swimming pool. The apartment was spotless and furnished in traditional tuscan style. The location is a perfect place to explore tuscany, close to sienna and florence...

The place is amazing, we stayed for two weeks in different houses and both were very good. The hamlet is very well taken care and the owners (and their lovely daughter) are very nice and friendly. An absolute place to stay.

Do not forget to make a stop in some of the beautiful small villages you pass on your way. There is always a charming church and an osteria where...

My husband and I went stayed at Santa Maria a Poneta for our honeymoon earlier this year. We had a little trouble finding it at first (first time in Italy, driving late at night should explain why), but Susanna patiently pointed us the right way over the phone while we were driving. We were truly dumbstruck by the beauty of...

We had no idea what to expect when we booked a weeklong stay at Santa Maria a Poneta in May 2007. When we arrived and met the owner Riccardo we knew we would be in good hands. Santa Maria a Poneta is our favorit place in tuscany. It is a very lovely ground. The pool is large and good to swimm. The beds aound the pool are super and sun-umbrellars give enought shadows. We like to lay, to sleep and to relax nearby the pool. We have kept (in four years) three appatremens: Linary, Vico and Sant...
