The friendly manager makes you feel at home immediately. Although I came after lunch, he brought me coffee and pastries, helped me find my destinations and made sure I had everything I wanted. My room had a mural of a magnolia flower on the ceiling. Down an alleyway and onto the main street, close to everything. Try the chocolate granita in a cafe along the street that has a bookstore also. The famous chocolate store always has lines and you spend too much of your time waiting. Modica chocolate bars can be bought in the stores along the street.
The location of the hotel is very good, in a narrow pedestrian street just above the main street, Corso Umberto and the museum of Modica. The hotel is clean, spacious, although it has only seven guest rooms. The rooms have lovely ceilings, painted by a local artist. Ours had beautiful 'margheritas'.The scenic views from the terrace upstairs are unforgettable. The staff were very friendly. And the breakfast was was good, cappuccino excellent. Some samples of Modica chocolate were available .All in all a warm, cozy, friendly town.
Once found a modern hotel, behind an ancient façade awaits. Bright, unique, modern and airy rooms fully air conditioned are all good. The rooftop terrace is a must, it offers fantastic City views. The hotel is just 200 yards from the vibrant, restaurant laden main street. Breakfast was fine, if a little sparse, but we had enough to eat. Great Hotel, superb City.
This hotel was so clean, with a nice staff, with good breakfast and a beautiful romantic view from the hotel terrace. The only discomfort was the way to the hotel. It was a very steep path. Never mind I can put up with a bit of exercises :) but the path was full of dogs poo :(
This centrally located boutique hotel tucked away down a side alley in Modica was a very pleasant surprise. Right in the heart of the town, close to all shops, restaurants and sights. Room was super clean and super comfortable with the most stunning painting on the ceiling. Reasonably priced. Staff were very helpful. Good breakfast provided. Highly recommend it. Be prepared to negotiate quite a few stairs to reach this hotel - especially if your luggage is heavy. And if you have a car, you will have to park on the street - which isn't a problem in the latter part of the day. The reception desk can help with your questions.
In city center - close to great restaurants and the beautiful churches of Modica. Simple breakfast. Quiet hotel with great ceiling paintings in the room. Some small things in need of repair - like faucet handle broke off and in another room the toilet flushing mechanism fell off. Could also use more pillows on the beds. But clean, great staff and the location cannot be beat.
Great location with modern, tastefully decorated rooms, with a fantastic views overlooking the lights of Modica. Go to the terrace to get a stunning perspective on this beautiful town. Convenient parking in the street below, yet right at the base of the town so a great central starting place.
The breakfast was excellent, the rooms clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was able to provide much information to help us on our way to having a great vacation in Modica. My only complaint about the place was that it was up an alley with no way to get your car up to the door to un load your luggage. The office staff did help me get it up from down the hill and were quite helpful, but the planning involved (and almost wrecking the car trying to turn around in that tiny, tiny alley) was stressful. My advice, pack light. Other than that one problem the hotel experience was lovely.
We only stayed here for 1 night but would highly recommend it. Although you have to walk up some steep stairs to get there it's for sure worth it. Very friendly staff. Clean and modern rooms. Wonderful breakfast and very central to all sights of Modica.
great location, very friendly staff, spacious room, excellent continental breakfast. some traditional restaurants close to the hotel in this beautiful town of Modica bassa. Will definitely stay here again.
