We were driving along looking for a place to have lunch, and wow did we get really lucky! We stopped here thinking they might be closed, but provided us with the most delicious lunch, and we didn't leave hungry at all! We were made to feel very welcome, the staff were very helpful and kind. And we now know who Ken Loach is!!!!! Thankyou!
Rooms - comfortable, clean, no fridge. Breakfast - very simple, only one baguette and one croissant per person, nothing else - afterwards we were hungry :-/ Parking - free in the hotel´s area. The hotel is closed to Posada where is very nice village (recommend to see) and the best beaches we had ever seen - white sand, clean sea and no people. But you have to have a car for going there. We found only one grocery in Posada where you can buy only basic goods. But it was at the midday.
We had booked the Hotel Velasole for a quick stop over after flying into Olbia. I had read reviews that said it was hard to find and they were right! I could find no directions on line before leaving England except that it was just off the main road after leaving the SS131 for Sinicsola. It's not! After leaving the SS131 for Siniscola you reach a small roundabout. Instead of continuing straight over towards Siniscola take the last exit. This is the SS125 which heads North back towards Posada and runs parallel to the SS131. The Hotel is just up this road on your right. Unluckily for us our flight was delayed and we arrived in the dark so struggled to find the Hotel. Several phone calls later to a staff member who spoke a little more English than my next to nothing Italian, we stumbled across the Hotel more by luck than judgement at half past midnight. The lady who had taken my phone calls waited up for us to show us to our room which was much appreciated. The room itself was basic but clean and had air conditioning. We were a little dissapointed by the breakfast which consisted of a croissant and a yoghurt as we expected a little more for what we paid. We left early that morning to head on down the coast so did not get to see much else of the Hotel. We were grateful to get our heads down in a clean bed and ultimately this Hotel was only meant to be a quick stopover so suited our needs. However it had little character and a meager breakfast so we would probably look for something else if we were to return to that area.…
