The house and gardens are beautiful, a tranquil oasis off the main road with a wonderful pool and a colonial feel. The bedrooms are secluded, quiet and comfortable with a nice shower room. Breakfast is buffet style, fruit, meats, pastries as expected. A huge drawback is the lack of visible staff and service. On arrival at the security gate we had to phone the number 3 times to get a reply then were buzzed in, down the drive to the parking, then wandered around lost with our luggage for 10 minutes before finding anyone. There is nobody serving at the pool bar so we were forced to eat crisps from the Minibar. At this type of guest house I would expect pool towels to be provided, but they were not. Everyone had their own beach towel at the pool, disappointing. In the evening we tried to borrow the pre-arranged hotel bikes but they had punctures and flat tyres the boy had no idea how to fix, so we walked, having to phone the reception from the exit gate to try to get out. We had apparently been given a rear gate fob, not a main one, which we weren't told at the time. The walk to town was a good 30 mins. We contacted the hotel who arranged a taxi back, all perfectly fine although at €10 not cheap for a few minutes ride. All in all, we had a good stay and for the standard of accommodation in such a nice setting the price is very fair. But the lack of any visible service and the frustration this causes take the shine off an otherwise lovely place.

simply the most charming and uniquely decorated villa, a stylish, relaxed elegance about this home just sets you at ease. Everything moves a little slower so if you are expecting quick service then go to a hotel. This feels more like home and Carla the owner is a gem!

The hotel itself is set in lovely gardens, the main house is stylishly furnished and the bedrooms are very tasteful and clean. Unfortunately the hotel had a number of disappointing features though such as not having enough staff and as such service was slow and at times non existent. Getting lunch or drinks during the day whilst by the pool was frustrating as there was frequently nobody around the bar to serve. On one particular occasion where we asked for some drinks, we were advised that the bar would not be opened and to use our minibar in the room. This is really disappointing as this is not a cheap hotel and as guests we would have expected hospitality to be a minimum requirement. We did try and eat at the hotel for dinner too but after waiting 1 hour were then told we should go into town as there was no food for us... unfortunately upon check in they had forgotten to ask us if we wanted dinner and so we got a taxi into Gallipoli to eat. All in all a real shame as Gallipoli is a fantastic town!

Response from Carla T, Proprietario at Maison d'Enrì

When you enter the gate of Maison d'Erni you drive on an impressive driveway under the pine trees and you will arrive in front of a 70's design villa surrounded by a beautiful garden. We were welcomed by an Indian staff member who was very kind and helpful during our stay. We were surprised to get a remote control of a gate near the parking place. During your stay you were not allowed to take the impressive driveway anymore but a side road and felt like delivery staff. After a short tour we were brought to the room. We booked a Camera Deluxe Matrimoniale which is unfortunately situated in the basement of the villa where previously the car parking was. From your terrace you have the view of the previous slope covered with grass, the drive way and the trees... a bit disappointing. The room has a lot of space, but an impersonal decoration, a very small wardrobe and a bathroom with obviously not enough light. So they put a standing lamp just near the sink ...very dangerous to be electrocuted. Not enough space to hang your towels, so when you want to take shower in the evening, your towels are still wet from your morning shower ! Breakfast is served in the veranda overlooking the garden. The buffet is good but not great. The biggest problem we experienced in this B&B was the lack of a warm home feeling. During our stay of 4 nights we met perhaps three times the owner. Is it because she has issues with speaking English, but she never asked if everything was okay or didn't showed any interest in us. Even if you don't speak a language, by adjusting your attitude you can create a good ambiance. We recommend this B&B to Italian tourists with a VIP content.

This villa is a very special pearl that if you are lucky enough to find it, you will enjoy beauty, peace and taste. We ended up at Maison d’Enri because we had a car problem. We very very lucky we ended up here. The landlord briefly showed us what was important. Offered us cappuccino on the house and had the staff bring us towels and an amazing lunch. I disagree with the previous review. When you stay at maison d’Enri you will experience complete peace and you will have the feeling that you are just bye your self at the property because it is very well spead out nd has many tasteful styled in and outside sitting areas. We will come back for sure. That said. We didn’t even had breakfast yet but after the lunch we already know it will be perfect. Thank you Carla for your amazing hospitality.
