Good value B&B, away from the Old City crowds This B&B on the seafront is a third-floor apartment with just a few rooms, which gives it a home-like feel. The balcony of room 32 had a fine view of the Gallipoli Peninsula and the sea. Breakfast (no warm food, but fairly copious for Italian standards) was taken on the balcony/terrace overlooking the seafront. The town was just half an hour's walk away from the old city. Our room was quite spacious, with a good bed. Airy bedroom and reasonably cool because of airconditioning that functioned well, a small fridge that was welcome in a heat wave. Bathroom small but efficient. One of the towels had a tear in it and an ugly spot, but excuses were offered. Parking the car for free may be a problem as parking your car on the promenade is pay and display but we were lucky to find a space in a side street, after being directed by the owner.…
Situated 25 minutes walk to downtown and across an really noisy amusement park, this depressing hot and stuffy place is really horrible. It is clean but the temperatures were so hot and the place is not air conditioned except for the rooms. The owners do not speak English but they do have a young man who speaks limited English and is eager to help. I really can not say anything positive except it is clean. And in a section of the city that is really dirty!
We loved staying at Dimora di Mare! Toto and Cristine are exceptionally warm, kind, wonderful people and they were so sweet to us. The views are absolutely amazing, looking right out over the sea. Beautiful! Our spacious and spotless room had a private balcony with seating and there was another balcony off of the breakfast room. There was a fridge in the room, too. Upon arrival, they insisted on preparing us a lovely lunch. Breakfast was bountiful and delicious, too! So much food! Toto made dinner reservations for us at one of his favorite restaurants (L'Angolo Blu) and we were so happy that he did. We had an amazing meal there and without that reservation, we would have been turned away. We could have easily stayed here for several days and were sad that our visit was so short. This is definitely a place to come back to. We highly recommend Dimora di Mare! Thank you, thank you, Toto and Cristine!…
