Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent 3 nights in this hotel and cannot praise Anne and her wonderful team enough. Our vehicle had broken down leaving my partner, myself and our dog stranded. We couldn’t have received a bigger welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. The homeliness of the hotel and its situation and surroundings made our circumstances easier to contend with. The room was large and well equipped. The food served in the hotel was wonderfully cooked and substantial, with a good range of choice. The grounds were well kept and the situation of the hotel made it easy to walk our dog. I cannot recommend this hotel enough for dog owners. Our situation was quite fluid, as our recovery provider kept changing our departure plans, yet the team reassured us that we could stay for as long as needed. They also helped with taxis that would accept dogs, which did prove to be quite a problem, as not many companies accept dogs, ie car hire, bus or trains. A truly wonderful place to visit and cannot recommend enough.

To whom it may concern, I have just left the rathkeale house hotel, after appalling customer service and an overall disappointing experience. My partner, my friend and I arrived and ordered and paid for three dinners , my partner and friend both received their dinner with cold roast potatoes at the carvery as I wanted chips with my dinner I was told sit down and wait as they were waiting for chips to come up from the kitchen , my friend also asked if she could get a extra portion of chips brought down to her. Twenty minutes later when both dinners were well and truly finished then I called one of your staff member to ask if the chips were ready she told me she would check and didn’t come back I called three more staff members one of whom a girl with blonde hair was extremely ignorant then eventually two small bowls of chips were brought down well after the carvery was turned off. I didn’t realise you could still serve food once the carvery was turned off. When I told the blonde girl that’s not the dinner I ordered she then came back with the small bowl of chips and another small bowl with two scoops of mash and gravy. I had to get my own plate to plate the dinner to then realise the mash was cold . Called another staff member to ask to speak to a manager after waiting 15 minutes for a manager I got up and left disgusted is the only word to use to sum up the experience . I travel forty minutes to come down here many Sundays I won’t be making the trip again .

We had a ladies Christmas gathering and long awaited catch up following Covid. Ann and the team couldn’t have done enough to make our night special. The room was beautifully set, tv provided and music. The meal was delicious and Ciara was most attentive to all our needs

Had a 2 night stay here Saturday 24 -Sunday 25 th .A group of seven cycling friends.Rooms spotless and very clean staff very friendly from reception to bar staff and waitresses and cleaning staff .evening meals absolutely fantastic service and food ,But sadly have to be blunt here about breakfast it’s just not up to standard, one staff on duty did her best to get out breakfast but we waited over 45 minutes and the poor eggs weren’t even cooked and all our breakfasts where cold inc the tea .we did let the manager know and she apologised for this mishap! Staff shortages etc .Brilliant hotel apart from the breakfast and hopefully they sort that out Asap maybe even putting a self service buffet for breakfast would help reduce waiting time from kitchen?? Would stay again and best wishes for the future and to all the staff thanks

In May of 2022 I had the fortunate experience of staying 5 nights at the fabulous Rathkeale House Hotel. Everything about the hotel was perfect. It is a beautiful hotel with the feel of a cozy bed and breakfast. My room was beautiful— brand new bathroom! My every need was met with the utmost professionalism but also with a smile and often a laugh! The restaurant is great for meals throughout the day and I always enjoyed mingling with the staff! If you’re looking for accommodations while visiting this truly beautiful area of Ireland, you will be overjoyed!

Special thanks to the lovely Noelle our waitress for the evening, who could not have been more helpful and was very kind and patient with our young son. Overall a good hotel with great staff.

My wife and 2 year old son found ourselves unexpectedly without housing in Limerick when COVID struck our travel partners. In a pinch, we stumbled into Rathkeale and we're so glad that we did. The room was totally sufficient - clean, comfortable, just as advertised. But the two owners went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. When my son was awake with jet lag at 2 am, I stumbled upon one cleaning up as I walked him around; he offered to make me a pot of coffee. On our first night, the folks in the next room over were very loud, which happens; the owners were aghast, dealt promptly with the noise, apologized profusely, comped us breakfast the next morning, and moved us (without our asking) into the honeymoon suite. None of this was necessary, but all of this was profoundly generous and helpful as we navigated a stressful situation in a foreign country. We're so grateful, and writing this enthusiastic (and honest!) review is the least we can do.
