Change of ownership and newly refurbished what hasn't changed is the excellent food here. Staff are friendly and excellent even in these strange covid times. I'd recommend the fresh chicken burger its divine.

The room was comfortable and quiet but smelled like stale cigarette smoke. Nice, older hotel in a pretty setting. Would have been pleased if the room didn’t have the odor. Hopefully this was just a case of someone not following the no smoking rules before us and not a normal occurrence.

We recently had the opportunity to stay at the Rathkeale Hotel for 3 nights while visiting Ireland for the first time. We arrived in the early evening and, after a walk through town came back to the hotel for an incredible dinner. The staff were accommodating and offered helpful tips as we planned our exploration of nearby sights. Our room was comfortable and allowed us a quiet night’s sleep even when a lively event was taking place into the later part of the evening in the reception area of the property. The breakfast room provided a place of comfort and a remarkable delicious breakfast which kept me satiated for the day. I appreciated the gentleman, Victor, who attended the breakfast area and was engaging and, genuinely made sure the guests were looked after. He was delightful! We enjoyed a magical moment when we were allowed to peek in at a group of folks dancing in the banquet room one evening. It was an amazing opportunity to catch a glimpse of local culture that would not have been afforded to us had we been elsewhere. We absolutely could not have had a more authentic experience elsewhere. I appreciate the insouciance vibe that mostly doesn’t exist where we come from. Thank you to all of the staff, you’re the best! I would definitely recommend this hotel for an off-the-beaten-path stay.

Stayed for two nights in April, staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean and tidy. More importantly the beds were comfortable. Was impressed to see the staff cleaning the carpets of the bedrooms too. Hotel its self is a little dated but could not complain
