Such a good location not too close to the strip however a quick walk to the clubs and restaurants. Staff were lovely, very nice and thoughtful. The hotel was very quiet when we went so had the pool to ourselves on most days. Cleaner came regularly and had no issues. Have to pay for aircon however we didn’t need it. Had the best time here and would definitely come back to this hotel if I came back to malia.
Location wise this hotel is perfect, very close to the strip and the pool backs out onto a wonderful view of the mountains. The pool is nice and the bar staff are also pleasant. However the rooms are bog standard and the customer service at reception is very very poor. All extras ( air con, safe etc ) are extremely extortionate so we decided against purchasing the safe which was €50. ( biggest mistake yet) I stayed with 3 of my friends for a week ( 8-15 August ) and we got chatting to a group of girls in our hotel on the third day. They told us they had suspicions of somebody going through their bags and taking small amounts of money. Upon returning the next day we found our room to be cleaned for the first time upon arrival. After checking through my stuff, I found that a total of €70 had been taken from my bag. 2 of my other friends then searched their bags and found a similar amount had been taken from them as well. Of course you could say this was our fault, for not purchasing a Safe, but I do not believe you should have to pay extra to secure your personal items, this should be something that is expected from a hotel. We complained to the reception and the man with glasses was extremely rude, told us that we could move to another hotel if we had a problem and threatened to phone the police on us as we were complaining about our money being stolen. No effort was made to investigate this and we were mocked by the staff and told the police would ‘ beat us up’ because we are English and apparent troublemakers. If you are British and looking to enjoy your holiday in the local bars and clubs AVOID this hotel at all costs, as they will judge you as a typical British tourist and blame their problems on you. I am extremely disappointed by the customer service and overall attitude of the reception staff and it put a slight stain on what was otherwise an amazing holiday in a beautiful location. I would 100% recommend visiting Malia, however I would steer clear of this hotel if you are looking for a relaxing, stress free holiday.…
So we arrived to a picturesque views, outstanding background scenery of the Cretan countryside behind the party town of Malia, whilst our holiday outside of the hotel was fantastic, we found our overnight stay to be nothing much more than an Ibis budget or a motorway travellodge it just had the few extras of pa swimming pool and a bar both of which were exteremly quiet. The cleaners have stolen a total sum of 200 euros out of myself and 3 of my friends and it was something the hotel seemed oblivious to and kept saying this has never happened before why would it happen now. They tried to say that the young lady cleaner had been there for 15 years, she must have been age 16 tops 😂😂 the hotel staff took the piss out of all the guests and left us feeling down and depressed as they just threatern everything from a small complaint to a large one with police action or they just say, "the door is open if you want to leave" I must say that as we were staying noear the main strip in Malia this type of thing can be expected I guess, however for a business trying to keep its income flowing and wages rising they need to keep their guests happy. I would warn any future guest that this hotel are theives (probably all in it together) they wont provide any basic extras that a normal hotel would and also they will be rude and aggressive right from the moment after you check in and get your card. If you have a question for the staff....good luck…
My friend and I stayed in this hotel for 10 days. At first, when we read the bad reviews, we were worried but we booked it anyway because the location and the price are excellent. To be honest, our stay was more than great. We got a safe because we read on the reviews its better if we do. breakfast was more than good for the price we paid and most importantly the people on the island are all super nice.
very clean, very friendly, very helpful.. the best choice for your holidays. very nice view of the mountain and the sea. very near the town ...we spent very well on our holiday...we will go back to this hotel again...!!!
We were at this hotel for a week in August 2018 in two couples. We are really satisfied with the quality of eating, personnel and room service. The hotel is quite small but overall it is its huge advantage, since there is silence and you can take a rest there near the pool from the loud city life. It also has breathtaking view at the mountains. Breakfasts were delicious - we were in love especially with hot crossaints at the morning and Greek yogurt. The hotel isn’t placed on a main road so it’s a peaceful place. If you want to go to the beach, it is a 15 minute walk from the hotel. To sum up, we are really satisfied with Hermes and we can surely recommend it to everyone who’s looking for a quiet place to spend their holidays.
A safe place with nice people, not far from the turquoise sea, always waiting for you to come back and spend some time by the swimming pool and the palm trees, listening to some Greek music with friends or family...
So when we first booked this I read some bad reviews and was a bit sceptical. We arrived late and guy was waiting on reception, gave us the key and we entered the room that was on the first floor. It was great! All new and clean. We had a balcony as well, smoking was allowed. We didn’t have one problem with it. During our 10 nights everyone was so polite. There is a bar by the pool and it has amazing food and drinks! Blonde girl that works there is amazing! You can eat and drink there whole day until 11pm sometimes longer. Prices are okay there and food is great. Pool is also amazing works until late, water is warm and clean and you can even bring drinks by the pool or in water. You can bring your own food and drinks in your room as well and food can be served in rooms as well. Everyone is so cool and chill and you can basically do whatever. Rooms were cleaned every 2 days, new towels and sheets. We were coming back to room basically every morning or late 5am etc and no one said anything, you can come whenever. Didn’t try to bring anyone back but don’t think that’s allowed. Also played music and didn’t have a noise complaint. Guys next door were really loud but no one said anything to them. Hotel is 5 mins away from the strip but a bit more away from beach. Solid 20 mins. Staff from hotel will always call ya taxi. Perfect hotel for the price, great location and if you go mid July all the young people will be there. Didn’t regret it once! 10/10! Greatings from Serbia!…
The hotel would be a 2-star by USA standards but probably is a 3-star by European. Looks as if it hasn't been updated since the 1960's or 70's. Still clean and okay for a quick stop. They have a nice breakfast in the morning and if you get one of the higher floors a nice view of the Aegean Sea
(9 lads) round the corner from the strip. !Music being played at the pool all day perfect! Bar staff were amazing. All good crack (ended up putting one in the pool on our last day haha) the reception ooooooo the reception. shes not afraid to go nuts at you when your mucking about, but she just needs a bit of loving. she will give you evil eyes the next morning but you can win her round #lovehate. she was good fun tho. cons the room i had was the smallest out of the 3 it was terrible far to small.
