This hotel was highly recommended on Booking.com- a website I am going to avoid in future having been badly disappointed on several occasions. This hotel is dirty and noisy. The carpets are all stained. The restaurant gets a great write up with an extensive menu. We turned up to find it was a set - all meat - menu. The doors are open onto a cobbled terrace where people smoke. So the smoke drifts inside. The disinterested receptionist hardly paused to put out her cigarette before slouching to the reception desk which is at the side of the restaurant. Totally oversold on Booking.com. I’d avoid it.

Had a nice stay here in August, very convenient for the local town. Value for money, needs a little updating. Helpful staff. Noise from adjacent road did not bother us. Great to be centrally located for locals cafes, bars and restaurants

due to a mixup we were temporarily stranded in Pezenas . we were greatly helped by the staff of this charming hotel , not only did they find us a large double bedroom with modern showerroom , but also went out of their way to assist us .without their help we would have not resolved our problem . we can nt express how grateful we ae for there help. in addition we thought the room price was very reasonable and our breakfast was value for money

I spent several nights at Hotel Moliere and recommend it. There is parking nearby, The Hotel is across the street from the square with Moliere's statue. The staff was friendly and helpful The lobby decor is the best, and the room was very comfortable. I highly recommend a stay at Le Grand Hotel Moliere.

Good hotel with polite staff and air con. Would have been nice having proper tea making facilities in the room. There was plastic disposable cups which was a shame in such a gorgeous place. Perfect position on the main square. We fell in love with Pezenas too

Big rooms. Clean and spacious. Nice large reception area. Didn’t enjoy the loud air con and uncomfortable bed with no air con in common parts just bedrooms. But staff were charming and helpful. Improvisation goes a long way to bridging the communication gap. The hotel is in the heart of the town and reasonably priced. Recently done up so all areas new. Thank you to all that work there.

We spent a night in Pezenas recently, and were delighted by both town and hotel. The Grand Hotel Moliere has recently been renovated, and it offers very well-maintained accommodation at a very competitive price. The view of the atrium from the top floor must be one of the town's best sights, though there are also some lovely streets once one cuts in from the unprepossessing ring road.

I wrote a previous review about a bad experience when I ate at the hotel but I would like to edit it as my whole week here has been very enjoyable. The room is quiet, clean, and the bathroom very modern. Towels changed everyday although in my case it wasn’t necessary. The whole decor of the hotel is beautiful and classic. Everyone is very friendly . that night was an exception as they were understaffed and had run out of oysters! One has to make allowances, as since then it’s all been very good. I parked my car in the parking on the square and it is very very cheap and secure . The hotel is situated just at the entrance of the old town so very convenient for visiting it. Pezenas is a beautiful town and staying at this hotel enhances the experience so I would recommend it.

It’s been one whole hour that I’ve been sitting in the dining room waiting for a meal which consisted of 8 oysters(cold) not much to prepare and a piece of fish! After 40 minutes the waitress brought 5 oysters saying they’d ran out so she could give me a coffee instead!!! This is oyster paradise: étang de Thau 10 miles away!! Running out of oysters????? This is a reputable hotel and they’ve only just started doing food again ! What the hell is happening? I’m staying at the hotel but I’m not impressed with the breakfast either; this morning I wanted an egg! Not much really but was told they hadn’t been delivered!!! I’ve eaten at other places in Pezenas and as I’m On my own within 45 minutes I’m in and out!! Not impressed really!

Response from Hervé G, Directeur général at Le Grand Hôtel Molière
Responded 19 Apr 2018
Sorry, we were understaffed due to two unforeseen absences. And we were also short of oysters because we only work with fresh produce of the day. I put myself in your place and that's why I offered you coffee and I charged you the menu at 19 € instead of 24 €. I did what I could to fix our mistakes by showing myself as commercial as possible. I understand your disappointment and the whole team of The Hotel Molière still apologizes to you.
