This is a truly charming and lovely little hotel with a personal touch! The staff were so kind and welcoming, helped us with practical matters & did their best to accomodate our 3 & 5 year old children. We ate a fabulous dinner (& breakfast) and loved the feeling of staying at a cross between a hotel & someone’s home/b&b.
We had a lovely overnight stay at this hotel. The room had its own terrace and air con (which we loved as it was so hot). The hotel is a lovely old building and very interesting. The best part of our stay was the meal though. Vincent as a very lovely host and cooked us a delicious 3 course vegetarian meal which really was tasty and could not be faulted, it was also really interesting food! I wanted to stay another night just to eat there again! We even went to the shop he recommended to buy the most amazing smoked salt 😃 Overall a really pleasant stay in a lovely old host with friendly owners and great food!
We had four nights here and felt that the excellent reviews did not match the experience. This is not a hotel, as we were immediately told when asking if we could leave luggage outside of the check-in time. It is locked shut between 12,00 and 2.00pm. It is a B&B with only 5 bedrooms and does not offer the luxury services the cost implies. Our room was on the ground floor with a small window into an internal courtyard. It had net curtains but all lights had to be on to use the room, so then the curtains had to be closed. With only fans to cool the room it soon got hot, but when we opened the window we had someone put their head all the way through and stare in. Clearly we were unlucky, but the window could not be securely part-opened, so we always felt hot in gloomy surroundings The bathroom was reasonable, but in no way luxurious. The tile grout needed bleaching, the toilet seat did not fit properly, the shower was not thermostatic and was poorly affixed. The bedroom had nice furniture, but it needed refurbishing. Almost all the upstairs open-air terrace furniture needed refurbishment. The front of the 'hotel' looks more like the rear, but has an inner steel gate for security that needs a key to open, even from the inside. I saw no emergency lighting or fire sensors so in the event of an emegency I would be concerned for the occupants. We did not eat here as the lure of the bakeries and cafes for breakfast was too great and the local restauarnts for lunch and dinner were very good too. All that said, the bed was huge and comfortable, the two people we met running it were charming and the position is perfect. We just needed a much lower expectation.…
My Friend had won a Visit to a Vineyard and we chose this Hotel. We paid for Transfer from Montpellier and the Hotel owner met us at the Airport with a very friendly Welcome. The Hotel is a traditional Building in a quiet Street. The Young Lady who showed us around spoke very good English and we were delighted with all the facilities in our Suite. Ceiling and Floor Fans are installed. Continental Breakfast with a lovely selection of items. Beds were very comfortable. We bought a lovely Wine for our last Evening from the selection that the Hotel sold. Pezanas is a really interesting Town with a big selection of Restaurants and Shops. The Toy Museum is very interesting too. Everyone was very friendly and many spoke English but we managed with a little French too. Highly recommended and I am looking at staying here next year. Thank you for a lovely stay.…
Stayed here for one night on my way through to Barcelona by bicycle. Nice little hotel, good communal indoor living area plus a small roof terrace. The proprietor is a good chef. My only slight negative is that I think it's slightly overpriced. Aside from that, would recommend.
We hope this review will be treated as it is intended. As constructive criticism. First the good parts; it is very close to the town and Vincent is an excellent cook - He prepared a beautiful meal for our wedding anniversary; Stephanie was also kind enough to source champagne and flowers for our anniversary. Now the not so good parts; our arrival was a little chaotic and Stephanie didn’t seem to be ready for our arrival. So we were given no information in terms of restaurants/places to park etc and the information we were promised on arrival arrived on our 3rd day; our room was directly below the breakfast room and we could here footsteps and the coffee machine going whilst we were in our room; the cleaning wasn’t great and mostly consisted of the bed being made every day; and finally check out was a farce - it took 30 minutes in 30 degree plus heat and the only breakdown of price we got was scribbled onto a piece of paper. I also think the room we got was slightly over priced at over €1,000 for 6 nights on a room only basis. The room was also very dark and didn’t seem to match the photos on the website. The parking is said to be free but it is not and it can be hard to park depending on time of day. Parking is also payable overnight and at weekends and public holidays. The owners have been in the property since November and I’m sure when they find the time to put their own stamp on things these and other issues will be things of the past.…
As many other buildings in Pézenas, this hotel is all stone, from walls, to stairs, to flooring. As you enter the long corridor and arrive at the “gate” and ring the bell, you can admire the mysterious stone stairs going to unknown cellars and the ones that will take you to your accommodations. It was quite a climb to our 3rd floor suite (Vigniamont). Our rooms were spacious and clean, with a very cozy sitting area and a comfortable king bed. The owner was very friendly, efficient and fluent in English. Breakfast was served in a lovely , large “library”style room. Too bad Babette is leaving, but the new owners are keeping the place as it is, plus some extras. Looking forward to experience it again.
We had an idyllic stay at the hotel in the grande suite. It is a beautiful venue and Babette’s attention to detail shines through in every aspect - from the warm welcome onwards. We loved every moment and we will definitely return.
This hotel is without question superb. Easy to locate and with convenient public parking near the Hotel D’Ville, it is wonderful. Our family booked two rooms for one night in early September and had the most glorious experience. The entrance to the hotel fails to indicate what wonders are inside, a stony corridor leads to a metal gate where you are met by Babette, the owner who explains in detail and in superb English the facilities that are available. There are 5 suites on site and two delightful terrace areas, one on the ground floor and one at the very top. On the roof terrace which is well appointed there is a sofa, reclining chairs and a table. There is also a well stocked honesty bar. The rooms are incredible, beautifully decorated, with great taste and very comfortable. What was also particularly special about this hotel was the compassion and hospitality. One of our party had been taken ill with food poising on the morning of our arrival and despite check in not being until 16hr, Babette personally cleaned the room and allowed us access at 11:30hr enabling them to rest and recuperate. A very kind and special touch. A truly delightful hotel that should you get the opportunity to stay in you should!…
We stayed here for one night as guests of charming host Babette. She was very welcoming and we stayed in the largest of the rooms. It was extremely comfortable and exquisitely decorated. A beautiful town house with charm and character. A short walk to the shops and local interest of Moliere’s Pezenas. Babette was full of recommendations for what to see and where to eat and these didn’t disappoint. Breakfast was delicious with fresh croissants, charcuterie and fruits from the garden. Highly recommended
