My wife and I are midway through a four-night break here. It is an absolute find. Within easy walking distance of the historic heart of medieval Pézenas, Les Galeries de Beaulac ticks all the boxes for us. Dorine our duplex room is in the left hand tower, with sitting area, toilet and shower room on the lower level and the air conditioned bedroom bedroom with its conical roof in the tower itself. Owner and staff are very welcoming and the room is cleaned daily with a change of towels. Having read a previous review which commented on the size of the towels provided we brought our own - probably a good idea if, like me you like big, fluffy towels. Breakfast is delightful with fruit juice, coffee, a selection of teas, croissants, pains au chocolate, bread with artisanal jams, hams, cheeses, fresh fruit and yoghurts. Great way to start the day before wandering through the tiny streets of the old town. The pool in the grounds is a lovely way to relax in the afternoon before more food and wine in Pézenas in the evening. Looking forward to the rest of our stay.…
Stayed 2 nights here and was not impressed To be fair, the stone building is beautiful, the breakfast was fine and the room more than adequate, although the towels were small and skimpy and the staircase leading to the mezzanine bedroom was lethal! We had booked for 2 nights and despite evidence of this, we were told we had booked for only one night so we were made move from a ground floor poolside room to a first floor turret room. The whole place looked as though it needed more staff. In the 2 days that we were there, we only spotted one person, presumably the owner. However, she was very hard to find when we wanted to ask a question about where to eat and so we eventually gave up. When we arrived, we rang the bell and no one came so we phoned the number on the door in order to be let in so make sure you have a mobile and have it charged. The garden area could be beautiful but it needs attention. Paths weren't swept and in parts, were caked in bird excrement, lawns were not well maintained and the pool needed a good clean (lots of leaves). This should be a daily task!! Cheap, plastic sun beds, some broken, surrounded the pool. On the reception desk were 2 dead pot plants. While these things (apart from the pool) are not major, they add up to an impression of a lack of attention. What could be a wow factor becomes a disappointment …
Without a doubt, this hotel is a real hidden gem. The rooms are spacious. Very clean. Beautiful garden and swimming pool. Quiet. Lovely fresh decor. Very close to the centre of town, yet tuck away from all the buzzing tourist activities in Pezenas. We definitely recommend this hotel.
Second visit just as good as the first last year. Lovely welcome. We had beautiful ground floor room with terrace which was perfect to sit and relax with a glass of wine on arrival. Excellent breakfast sitting outside in the grounds. A hidden gem.
Beautifully styled and spotlessly clean. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Each morning a feast of a breakfast is laid out with fresh coffee offered too. We had the Conti Suite, two bedrooms and large luxurious bathroom with walk in shower, definitely the best accommodation we have stayed in. Recommend!!
This place is incredible. Nadia and her husband renovated, designed, and decorated this old convent. A few steps from the old town. Free parking nearby. Delicious breakfast. Our favorite inn in our 2 week trip in France.
Very charming and pleasant place to stay in Pezenas. We got a room in one of the towers , very nice. Some traffic noise in the morning . Lovely patio where it was nice to relax by the pool . Lovely breakfast ! We will happily return. Ok price. ( must pay cash ) Wifi was not working.
A beautiful oasis in a lovely medieval town, hidden away with a gorgeous, peaceful garden yet so close to the centre. Nadia was so helpful and welcoming. A really special place, being a converted monastery. Breakfast was served in the sunshine on the terrace. Steep stairs.
Found this delightful chambre d'hote last week. Hidden away off an unpreposing alleyway, the gardens and building are superb. It's an ex monastery built around courtyard and gardens, with a swimming pool. Only five rooms and very peaceful. Lovely breakfast seved outside. 10 mins walk from the centre of Pezenas.
Found this delightful and interesting little boutique b&b. Former 17C monastery restored and converted to make a unusual and unique place. We had a small but delightful suite with en-suite leading off the courtyard and we had the included continental breakfast in the morning sun just outside our room. Swimming pool most welcome after a bit of a drive the day we arrived. Plenty of free parking around and one or two private spaces if required. Got recommendations for restaurants locally in the old town itself very close by. Perfect!
