Absolutely loved this place from the moment we entered this amazing building until the moment we left. Amazing owner went out of her way to be helpful. Enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine in front of the fireplace after a long drive to get there. Location couldn't be better within walking distance of vineyards such as Romanee Conti Fantastic

Watch it: reading reviews from 2013 and now, three years later. No more bad comments, the new owner couple are really very, very nice and charming people with one goal: to make you arrive as a tourist and leave as a friend, sort of a member of a nice family. This is an authentic very old castle, no elevator, but...

My wife and I stayed here for one night on our way home from a fortnight a holiday in France. It is such a beautiful and enchanting Chateau and the proprietor is an extremely courteous and charming lady. She made us feel so welcome and took the time to show us 2 rooms to choose from. A lovely touch. The...

My wife, dog and I stayed here for one night whilst travelling back up to the UK. The hostess met us at the door and could not have been more welcoming....truly stand-out service. We stayed in a lovely room with a very comfortable four-poster bed.....we even had comfortable, soft pillows, which isn't always a given in France! ;-) We had...

A personalized service from the new owner, making you feel at home doing everything possible to make you enjoy your stay. Fabulous breakfast in an exquisite china set. Large rooms are huge and little rooms are tiny all refurbished. We recommend it and we will come back again.

A wonderful surprise in an elegant setting. We were really pleased with the style, elegance and comfort of this chateau. The high spot was having breakfast served on the lovely terrace overlooking the gardens. I'd definitely go back if we return to the area.

Positives... Lovely setting in wine country outside Dijon, wonderful grounds, amazing old cheateau, friendly service, charm and history, family run. Negatives... Rooms a bit worn, bed was hard, breakfast only fair, needs a facelift. Overall, a little money invested in upgrades would have made it great but staff is friendly and capable, real charm and an excellent value overall.

We love Chateau de la Berchere and have stayed here twice (5 nights total) in the last few years. The rooms could stand an update (hence 4 stars instead of 5), but that is secondary to the charm, feel, and personalized service of staying in this historic chateau. The grounds and patio are amazing and service excellent. We would absolutely...

Very friendly staff including a small Yorkshire dog called Elliot will welcome you. We had a great oldfashioned room in the main part of the castle, looking down to the pool and breakfast terrace, highly recommendable. Father in law had a rather smallish room in another wing, that wasn't as nice, so room selection is key. Overall, a great experience,...

Amazing place! Gorgeous setting, beautiful room. Very clean and tidy. And spectacular service, everyone very friendly and super helpful! My mother wasn't feeling very well when we first arrived and they were so attentive. Also offered great advice on what to see and do nearby. Oh and the owner has THE cutest little dog!! Would definitely stay here again!
