The highlight of our trip to New Zealand was our time spent with Davy and Trish at Avalanche Bed and Breakfast. Great location, gracious hosts, wonderful breakfast and afternoon muffins. The room was large and comfortable with an incredible view of the mountains.

Trish welcomed us on our arrival and had our accommodation ready which was just perfect. Welcoming cakes including gluten free had been home baked and were delicious. The rooms were spotless with all we needed provided. Trish was very helpful with her local knowledge of the district including walks and local restaurants which we used. We have no hesitation in... This was definitely one of the best B&B's we have stayed in during our NZ trip in 2016. The hosts are very nice. He is in the tourism business, and she is running the place. We had a wonderful conversation with her, and she even sent us recipies for her delicious tasting muffins. They have a small dog which is... More

Trish & Davy own a beautiful B&B on the edge of Wanaka, well away from the lakeside hustle & bustle. They are very welcoming hosts and provided a fine DIY breakfast service in the excellently appointed room. It opens onto a lovely garden, blooming lovely with spring flowers, ideal for al fresco breakfast. Only a 2 minute drive from the... More

Avalanche B&B is a great place to stay. Davy, Trish, and little Poppy the dog were terrific hosts. The view of the mountains and glacier were spectacular. We were especially impressed with the baking and breakfast spread that Trish provided each morning. The room was perfect with many extras and attention to detail. We went on a great fishing trip... If you like to be away from the crowd, Avalanche B&B is in a quiet residental neigborhood and would be a good choice. It is only 5-10 minutes from city center and a nice easy walk to trail that goes along the lake. You can walk to Wanaka if you like. We stayed in the self-contained ensuite that had absolutely... We so enjoyed our stay here. We liked the patio doors that opened to a table with chairs and a barbecue, which we made use of. Trish was a fabulous host. She had fresh baked muffins and cookies available daily. She even shared the recipes for those as well as for the yummy homemade granola. The accommodations were very comfortable,... More

Perfectly and tastefully appointed in an awesome, serene setting combined with Davy and Trish as hosts who are attentive to every need. Nothing lacking. The icing on the cake was starting the morning fishing on the lake with Davy, catching a beautiful rainbow trout. Which Davy cooked to perfection, paired with a fine wine we found at gorgeous Rippon Vineyard... More
