This is cheap accommodation, very basic but good enough for an overnight stay. Twizel is the closest town to the Mt Cook area, so an ideal starting point for early morning tours. Location in the town is excellent, walking distance to the shops, pubs and cafes. The property is situated on large grounds, separating the motel units from the lodge...

Budget but well organized and comfortable lodge with best option for Alps to Ocean bike trail accommodation. Rooms with private shower and bathroom are the best. Common kitchen opens till 22:00. Good pub and the mall are 100 m. away.

We stayed in a 3 bed room for two nights (36NZD per person and night). The buildings are old and it's very cold inside. We had an heating element in our room which warmed it up but the shared showers and toilets were very cold. The room was clean but very small. The kitchen was big but very busy and...

We booked a one night stay here over easter as it was the only room left in town as left it late to book. We booked a studio with en-suite. Hey it was OK, very clean, nice linen with jug, plates etc. Hot water great pressure. The only downer is the en-suite rooms are amongst the shared bathroom bedrooms. So...

This was a very good value motel. It was basic but clean and was a good stopping off place en route to wanaka. The staff were friendly and helpful. The parking was good. We had a comfortable nights sleep and it was very quiet which was good ! Thank you.

First night at a regular room was awful- small with minimal facilities. Second night, after we upgraded to a flat , adding 40$ for the night, was great - a large bedroom, a sitting area and a fully equipped kitchen. The WiFi signal was bad.

Wanted to stay Lake Tekapo but too expensive, and glad we chose Twizel. Less commercial, and as a result we went up to Mt Cook which we probably would have missed if at Tekapo. The hostel had the usual mix of nationalities and we chatted over dinner with a couple of travelling Swedes, a guy who had come over from...

Tekapo was booked and way too expensive so on to twizel booked here before I read the reviews. Silly me. It was budget but clean for outdated old building. Walls paper thin could hear people easily thru walls. Hallway floor creaked really badly with lots of people walking along it all hours of night. Shared bathroom which was clean. We...

Stayed here for early start to Mount Cook. Units are fairly basic, almost seem like contractors' buildings or old fashioned holiday park units. However it was clean and comfortable and helpful staff. Value for money and no complaints
