Our room was straight out of the 1980s . 2 double beds with very soft mattress, 2 lounge chairs with seating badly stained. I couldn't fit the jug under the tap in the bathroom. I thought my days of having a cold wet shower curtain slapping around my legs were well gone!!!! Their saving grace was the lovely staff in...

Thank you for your thoughts. We are currently underway with painting our rooms to freshen up the look and update furniture and accessories. The new tap ware in the bathrooms has been chosen to alleviate the problem with filling the jugs - the mixer swivels to allow the jug to be filled. My apologies regarding the shower curtain and length...

Easy booking in, friendly staff allowed us access early. Upstairs room with views to the partly snow clad mountains. As noted in some reviews, the motel is 'old school', but as we were only renting a night's accommodation and not moving in permanently we were happy with the large clean and comfortably furnished room. Although a large motel (109 rooms)...

Room upstairs had a lovely view. Bed comfortable and facilities clean. Lovely variety of food for breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Very central location for walking to town and for exploring the fantastic scenery in the McKenzie Basin.

Went with the April Red Carpets LotR Tour group, and it was a great experience. Excellent buffet dinner. Fireplace in the lobby / gathering area with seating. Supposedly nice area to watch the stars but alas it was cloudy that night.

I travel for work and stay in a lot of hotels and motels - this is the first one that I have ever been compelled to write a bad review about. Normally you get what you pay for but at $185 for the night (supposedly discounted from $219) this place is charging at a level that it comes nowhere near...

We were in new Zealand for 3 weeks and this was by far the worst hotel we stayed in while we were there. It's clean (just) but VERY outdated and tired. For example - green velvet curtains and pink velvet lounge that was really saggy. If the price reflected the state of the hotel it would be fine but it doesn't....

Location a better choice than Tekapo. The drive here was amazing and the arrival at the hotel just added to our day. It is a great place to stay. Large rooms with big windows and balcony. Our room had a view of Mt Cook. The style is of it's time but is now in vogue again. It is as if...
