Beautiful and private location. The rest in hammock under the gazebo is the best. Just listen to the birds, lashing waves, distant voices and then nap. Food local and oh so delicious, eat as much as you can. Our plane lands and take off on the property!

A day trip to Baganara Island Resort was indeed a treat. It was peaceful, relaxing and made one feel like they were in an oasis, insulated from the rest of world. The food was just ok, and could definitely be improved upon. The service was excellent. The journey there was a little long, an hour by road to Parika and...

The resort itself is like any good resort, the food was great, at least I enjoyed it, the rooms were clean and the atmosphere was pleasant. But.......it is the wonderful feeling I felt being there. A feeling of peace and...

It took some doing to get to the resort but it was worth it for the seclusion and sheer beauty of the place. There was a hiccup with reservations but this was corrected and the hotel management worked hard to make good on the error. The staff was very polite and accommodating. "Thank you" Angel. The cook and the housekeeping...

Baganara Resort s an island on the majestic Essequibo River in Guyana, South America. We got there by driving an hour out of the city and then taking a boat down one of largest most beautiful rivers I have every seen. (You can also get there by small plane)The river seems to cut into the middle of the jungle with...

Baganara is on an island in the Essequibo river, just upstream from Bartica (where the Essequibo, Cuyuni and Mazaruni rivers converge. It has a short airstrip and was originally used as a staging post by the Correa mining company. The hotel itself is fairly basic, but the point is its location: it has a little beach, and you can swim...
