The room is Big enough for a family (though the sleeping sofa is very uncomfortable for children older then 5) and was beautiful indeed. However, we were charged for parking in the courtyard, and had no chance of talking to the reception , because they were either not present, not answering the phone number provided, or did not speak English. The room is overpriced for 4 people, access to spa is pricy and the fitness room could not be accessed.

Liked · Away from the city center, but still in the middle of everything. Our room was facing the valley with historical city center, with beautiful views (really beautiful). Not the fault of the property, but you could always hear the whole city "living" the weekend. So if you think it will be quiet experience, you might be wrong. Apartment no. 6 was very comfortable, nicely equipped, as in the photos and quite big. No AC, but simple fan was en suite. Apartment provided a lot of wardrobe space. Breakfast was quite okay. I´d say nothing amazing, but nothing a person should be disappointed from (smashed eggs, beans, bacon, bread (even gluten-free, but needs to be requested upfront), ham, cheese, vegetables, watermelon, yoghurts...)... Disliked · When we arrived at Friday, there was a concert at the place (hits of Karol Duchoň), receptionist assured us it will stop at 10pm. That was also true, the band stopped playing at 10pm, however music was playing until e.g. 10:30pm and people were outside in very good mood until 11:40. As our window was just above all the fun (I am early sleeper, what can I do :) ), I could not fall asleep until the crowd went too. Rooms aren´t soundproof at all. Everything is cracking, you hear every step happening in next room, also voices. But let´s say you are in historical building from 15th century, so that is okay as well. What was less okay was bathroom. If I compare how nice and well equipped is the room, how much it costs per night, I would assume bathroom quality would be in same standard. The shower wasn´t one of the cleanest ones, with water having issues to drain away, and with shampoo provided in sachets (those small bags filled with shampoo for one use). Even in less luxurious properties I am used to either shampoo built in the shower place, or provided in small tubes for at least 2-4 uses). As with my wife we were doing sports during the day, we quickly ran off the shampoo and could not find maiden, so we brought own shampoo in a shop in the city) What was not okay was that on booking.com and also in the hotel guide (paper leaflet in every room) was noted that parking is free. But parking was not free, and it costed 3eur per night. I am okay with paying those little 3 eur/night, if I know about it upfront. Upon checkout I was informed by receptionist that they have changed policy in May of this year. Well, it better be written in the leaflet and at booking.com. That was disappointment, and not because of those 3 eur/night (6 in my case), but because of principle!

The room we were given was dirty, we found old used paper towels in drawers or just behind the fridge. The fridge has not been cleaned, and no 2 glasses were same or not broken. Breakfast was the usual cheapest Slovak staff, the lowest quality. The staff was not helpfull. Although the view out of the accomodation is beautifull, this is being missused for low quality for high prices. Overall dissappoitment

Very nice place just above the village with great views. The women that managed the place was very nice, we came without any reservations and she let us get in to the room before she saw us. the breakfast was one of the best over Slovakia. I truly recommend this place

We stayed I 1-bedroom apartment on the first/ground floor. The room had nice historical charm with thick walls. The place has on site free parking, free wi-fi. Great selection for breakfast with option to have food made to order. We really enjoyed the location: quiet place with great views of the city but only 5 minute walk into the center. Everybody was very nice ready to help.

Stayed there for a meeting. You really feel in a historical place. Ground floor, large room with living and bedroom. Extremely kind lady managing the property with very good English. Very good breakfast. Breathtaking views.

A lovely bed&breakfast, located 5 minute walk from a historic city center of Banska Stiavnica. Ground level is a historical thick wall building, upstairs is made of wood and looks more rustical. Good continental breakfast, with espresso machine. Front desk manager is there only on call and in the morning, so no 24/7 service, also not daily housekeeping (but this is not a hotel, so this was expected). The location is quite and ideal for those who don't want to stay in a noisy and busy city. Our bed was really low, almost on the floor. Free wifi, free parking. We had a 1-bd apartment, with a small living room. Would recommend.

Staying here four days left us very nice surprised, warm and speachless. The pension is situated in the old building (I think it was a fortress before) which is very nice renovated with several rooms inside. Our room (double) was huge and was divided into living and sleeping areas. In the bedroom there was double bed with some furniture for storing the clothes, living area consisted of sofa, small refrigerator, flat screen TV, electric kettle. In the room there is a private shower with WC, small entrance hall with another place for storing the clothes too. No balcony or terrace, only the window view to the beautiful surroundings. There is a nice and good breakfast (good variety of options and freshly made ham and eggs or omelets) included in the room price which is served downstairs. The wi-fi is free and connection was without any problem during all the day. The pension has own parking place for visitors, terrace garden with grass, some flowers, trees and kinder playground. All the facilities were extremely clean and the staff was very helpful for all your needs. The distance to the city center is about 5 minutes by foot, but remember whole city is on hilly side, so accept walking up and downhills. I really recommend this pension for staying in and we will definitely come back again.

I stayed here in May 2017 with a large family group including newlyweds. The newlyweds had the Presidential suite, and the rest of us occupied the gorgeous green and blue rooms on the ground floor, plus a smaller room on the first floor. This latter room was smaller and cheaper, but was still a large room. The rooms on the ground floor are enormous and very beautifully decorated. Each one is different. The location of the penzion is also great and the views from the rooms are lovely. Sonia was a lovely hostess but wasn't always around which was only a problem at breakfast time. The breakfasts were included and were fantastic, but some times Sonia was there to offer you something cooked, and if you didn't time it right, she might not be there when you arrived and thus you were not offered a cooked breakfast. However she always had beautiful fried eggs (and sometimes sausages) available in the warming ovens. That was always enough for me. Although the rooms were well equipped and had kettles, it would be really nice to have some coffee or teabags (at least for when you first arrive), and some soap in the shower (it's the one thing I never carry and make use of in hotels etc).

I went with my family.. (wife and 2 kids). The rooms were huge, the view was amazing, the breakfast was satisfactory and the staff of the place were nice all the time I met them. The location of the place is very nice. We walked to 2 lakes, they are in forests and look amazing. We hiked, we enjoyed a coffee in town, we ate well. I don't think there is anything I could complain about! Highly recommended by my family
