This hotel has a great potencial, but... The biggest minus is internet connection which is available only in conference room. Interior is very nice, very friendly and little bit fancy. I am giving this hotel: Interior- 9,5/10 p. Staff- 5/10 p. Rooms- 7/10 p. Summary: 71% which is an average. I recommend but they can get better!
We arrived on Friday for a weekend stay. Although there was a sort of celebration in the common bowling room, the staff was helpful, showed us to the room, and explained everything in detail. We opted for the more luxurious room and it was just PERFECT - every bit as good as it looks in the pictures. There is nothing wrong I can say about the room itself. It was clean, spacious, warm. Beds are comfy too, everything seemed well maintained and it has this special feel about it. Some reviews complain about parking being a bit distant and stairs in the building, so we were a bit concerned. The parking is cca. 50m away, no big deal. Since our room was not upstairs, we had no trouble with that either, I can imagine that this might be an issue for elderly people. The parking lot itself closes (staff let you know the lock code). We were even allowed to keep our car there on Sunday after we checked out - it was very kind. The accommodation section has its own entrance, which is helpful, since you have freedom to come and go as you wish. Breakfast was not as rich as in other hotels I visited, but we were definitely not left hungry. Choices are somehow limited, but you get the standard selection. Our stay was very fine and I can only recommend this hotel to anyone.…
Hotel is located in the Old Town of Banska Stiavnica - former mining center in Austro-Hungarian Monarchy (nowadays in the heart of Slovakia). Walking from hotel to the main square takes only 10 mins but could take even longer if you stop by in some of those great pubs and restaurants on both sides of the main street.
Only OK. This place has so much potential and could be amazing. The positives- room and building are old and impressive- clean and comfortable. Creaking doors and floorboards are like originals. Staff friendly. Negatives- it was very obvious that the management was poor. No sense of direction and the good staff were left to waft and wander. The breakfast was very poor. Yougurt was past best before date and same rolls served two consecutive mornings. Instant coffee until i went & found someone to make me a coffee. No staff on hand. If you look up around the restaurant- a good dust and clean is required. There is also a Cosmopolitan 2 & 3 I wonder what they are like. Management get the finger out and show that you can run a place like this
I recommend this hotel if you are heading to this beautiful city in central Slovakia. Old fashioned rooms, in a good way. Nice garden and bowling trails (one hour was included in our room rate) supported our pleasant stay. Restaurant is also of a good standard.
