Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have to say I was very surprised by the high standards in The Castle Arms - we booked it literally at the last minute to attend a wedding in the castle Killian took our booking, he was behind the bar when we arrived and duly checked us in...... Our room was HUGE - the bathroom was HUGE - Although we were to the front of the hotel we didn't hear any street noise. Breakfast is served till 11.30 !!!! An absolutely fantastic time especially when attending a wedding the night before ! Its served in the bar - which does not smell like a bar at all - it is cooked to order and piping hot upon arrival - The place is spotless - airy and bright - the staff are extremely polite and helpful - a lot of ""modern"" bigger hotels could learn a lot from this establishment - well done to the owners and staff - especially Killian who multi tasks with ease !

From emailing to enquire about a stay and a meal for 45, to landing and being treated like old friends, the Castle Arms Hotel team and venue were fantastic. We stayed for two nights and had a meal booked for 45 for a family occasion. The booking and communication was excellent. We changed numbers on the day and it was no bother at all. The meal for 45 was so tasty, hot and we all ate together. We had meals there as well, lunch and breakfast and both were gorgeous. The soup on each day was delicious, and not just because we were drowned with the welcoming Irish weather! :) I'm a bit of a fussy eater and they changed sandwiches for me no bother. The room was spacious and warm, and the bed was really comfy. The hospitality was exceptional, with Joseph even offering to drive us to our old family home (as it was the directions got us there no problem) the Castle Arms Hotel and all its team made us feel like a long lost friend returning home, which in a way we were. I highly recommend everything about this place..... If only the weather had been as warm as the welcome

Just stayed here… was at a wedding locally. Lovely hotel with lovely staff… owners ended up having to half dress us due to a few pre-wedding issues! Couldn’t of been nicer & more helpful, plus the breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend staying here

Stayed here whilst attending a wedding nearby. I've stayed in many hotels this year for weddings etc and this is by far thee most enjoyable stay by far. In fact all the high profile hotels could learn quite a lot from the staff and management here. The hotel is spotless, absolutely spotless! The pride of staff in work is so evident and their friendlies and willingness to help is so refreshing. Breakfast was lovely! Rooms are big and well equipped and the bathroom was so bright and airy with a long mirror! It's the small things! But all the small things add up to a great hotel which this is - will definitely be back.

Stopped in for food on Monday evening before continuing our journey to the place we were staying at during the ploughing match and then returned for food on all 3 days of the ploughing match. I have to say the food was amazing and stayed Thursday night with my partner and the room we stayed in which was room 30 was amazing. My complements to the owners/ management and all the staff. Each and everyone of you guys and girls were very accommodating in each and every way. My partner loved your mint aero cheesecake and it was a dessert that had to be go each evening. Will definitely be back for another visit in the near future. I will definitely tell people a good place to stay if they are ever up this direction. I am leaving with a smile on my face and the longing to return again. Until next time I return we look forward to the next visit

The rooms are fine and the staff were lovely, so great for me and family for a wedding at the castle. Nice breakfast and a lovely pint in the bar. Parking, no problem. Not a great deal to do locally but we were there for the family wedding. Kilkenny worth a visit if staying here..

Popped in here to meet family for a couple of hours who stayed the previous night. We had some coffees and lunch. From the minute we arrived, we were greeted with a very friendly lady on reception. All of the staff were exceptional, attentive and engaging. The children's food was really good quality and the coffees were fab. It wouldn't be too often i'd leave a review, having just spent a short time in a place but I had to leave a review to commend the staff for a friendly welcoming venue. Also the guests who stayed overnight were really impressed with the breakfast, I will have to book in myself sometime in the future!! :)
