Our family run guesthouse and restaurant is situated in the picturesque georgian village of Durrow, Laois in Ireland. The house was purpose built by Lord Ashbrook in 1777 and meticuosly restored by the Murphy family in 2005. It has 10 beautifully appointed bedrooms and the restaurant is open on Friday and Saturday nights and for Sunday lunch. It was formerly called the Bianconi Red Lion Guesthouse.

Family run guesthouse more like a mini hotel. Very comfortable, food excellent and the staff so friendly too. Highly recommend staying here. Situated in the heart of Durrow town, with pretty surrounding countryside (see photo).
Thank Jackie G

Hello Jackie G,
Many thanks for your kind review. It was a pleasure to host you.
Hopefully we will see you again in the future.
Great clean rooms, very comfortable! Had to leave early next morning. Was told no one would be up until 9 so exit via the fire exit. No breakfast or compensation offered! Very bloodiest care. We delayed until 8am but still no one appeared.

Many thanks for your review, we do apologies you should have been offered a continental breakfast. The reason we serve breakfast later is really to accommodate our guests that have attended a wedding as they prefer a late breakfast.

I stayed in the Ashbrook Arms guesthouse first weekend in November.
Stayed for 2 nights and had dinner.
Guesthouse- old style. Rooms a good size. Spotless. Loads of room. Very quiet. Furnishings to a high standard.
Breakfast was the best I ever tasted. Full Irish...More
Stayed here for a wedding end of Sept. Very impressive guesthouse. Rooms are super comfotable and clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast delicious. 125 euro for 2 of us. Enough for a 1 nite stay but totally enjoyed our stay
The Ashbrook Arms is on the old Dublin-Cork road and must be the best place to stay between the two cities. Very clean and comfortable rooms in the courtyard. Excellent breakfast and dinner under the supervision of Rosezita herself. Highly recommended family owned hotel.
