Travellers' Choice
Discover Eshott Hall for an indulgent stay in our stunning English country house tucked away in the beautiful Northumbrian countryside. Nestled in the quiet village of Eshott, in the heart of rural Northumberland and surrounded by its own sprawling private estate, you’ll find Eshott Hall. The setting could hardly be lovelier, enveloped by acres of ancient woodland, rolling lawns and a walled kitchen garden. The archetypal grand manor house, with a double rosette award-winning restaurant but with the atmosphere being friendly home-from-home. With 17 bedrooms and suites and two holiday cottages available to book, it's the perfect place to get away from it all and forget about the outside world. There's little wonder that Eshott Hall features in The Telegraph’s guide to the best UK wedding venues.

Just stayed three nights in this beautiful Country House Hotel in an adorable little village. Staff are second to none. Very welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. To say we’re all in a difficult situation at this moment in time the staff still had a smile on their face and dealt with it very professionally.. Katelyn who booked us in was very nice and Helen who we saw in the dining room always had a little chat with us at breakfast was brilliant.. All the staff were were great. Evening meals were very enjoyable. I do think some lights at the entrance to the Hall would be good as it is very dark when entering the driveway in the evening. The beer prices are slightly high but this always seems to be the case in hotels. Would we come back? Yes definitely! In a flash!

We went for afternoon tea as an engagement treat for a friend. We turned up a bit late, but they were kind enough to let us in. Got a vegetarian afternoon tea. Great experience and beautiful place, very homely.

Our second stay. We were in the old stable block and in this case had room service for our evening meal and breakfast. Both were well presented, the evening meal was served course by course so each hot course remained hot. The rooms are superb with plenty of space so we didn't feel cramped when we ate our meal. It certainly reduced our covid risk.

Told room was ready: it wasn't, dirty linen keeping door open. Told about covid-19 & one way system, on way to room staff going wrong way. Drawing room chairs grubby & stained as was the settee in our bedroom. Staff not professional e.g. a) wine ordered No. 28, No. 35 brought, b) on next table steaks ordered, one well done the other medium: on bringing them them waiter didn't know which was which. My sirloin steak full of grizzle. Completed Eshott's online questionnaire: same comments as above. Immediately emailed back to say the manger was concerned I& would be calling: 4 weeks later, "no contact from the manager. Not a 4* hotel more like a 2*.

We had another lovely stay at Eshott. We were very pleased about the Covid friendly state of the hotel. The "served buffet" breakfast worked really well - staff were brilliant. Had a nice evening meal as well - good service again. Highly recommended hotel.
