Travellers' Choice
Discover Eshott Hall for an indulgent stay in our stunning English country house tucked away in the beautiful Northumbrian countryside. Nestled in the quiet village of Eshott, in the heart of rural Northumberland and surrounded by its own sprawling private estate, you’ll find Eshott Hall. The setting could hardly be lovelier, enveloped by acres of ancient woodland, rolling lawns and a walled kitchen garden. The archetypal grand manor house, with a double rosette award-winning restaurant but with the atmosphere being friendly home-from-home. With 17 bedrooms and suites and two holiday cottages available to book, it's the perfect place to get away from it all and forget about the outside world. There's little wonder that Eshott Hall features in The Telegraph’s guide to the best UK wedding venues.

We booked Eshott Hall for May 2020 - and we all know how that turned out! We were determined to try again and finally made it in May 2021. It was well worth the wait; a lovely hotel in a great location with a very warm welcome from first pre-stay contact with the receptionist. We hope to return.

Eshott Hall is a beautiful Country House Hotel in a fantastic location if you are visiting Northumberland. The house and it's grounds are superb and within striking distance of some great tourist locations However, a few small avoidable niggles let them down. Getting there: Very narrow single lane access road in all directions - be aware, there is no mention of this on descriptive websites. Rooms #1 : Disappointed that the room (deluxe) appeared to be untouched for cleanliness following Pandemic shutdown. Cobwebs in many places, which questions how much deep cleaning had been done prior to reopening. Rooms #2: We were subject to a persistent and regular rumbling background noise (sounded like a pump). Although not very loud it was noticeable enough to be irritating,

A gorgeous hotel in a beautiful setting. Friendly staff that go the extra mile Dog friendly, but if you have no dog it’s equally as good (dogs allowed in some areas but not all...as it should be!) 10mins to a big beach (Druridge Bay) Lovely food - fine dining. Catered very well for my Gluten Free Diet (Coeliac) Breakfast great...plenty of choice Rooms big, clean & comfortable Bed - excellent...so comfortable We’re definitely returning & cant recommend this place enough. PS - the perfect wedding venue (I even asked if we could divorce so I could get married again there ;), it’s a stunning location for it.

Booking this offer was very easy on line and was great value with 3 course sunday lunch and bed and breakfast in a beautiful room in the main building. Sunday lunch was superb. Breakfast excellent. The staff were all very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was very relaxed. In terms with covid safety they are very well organised so we felt very safe at all times. I would highly recommend Eshott Hall.

Staff very welcoming, friendly and engaging and happy to provide advice on the local area, places to go etc Very Covid safe. Breakfast and dining times staggered as well as different seating areas. We stayed in the Stables & our room was very comfortable, warm & modern. Very spacious. WiFi is only available in communal areas, but considering 12 months of working from home behind a computer, it was nice to just walk around the lovely grounds and look out the big windows hoping to see wildlife. There is a dog-friendly room just off the main. Meals were lovely and can’t go wrong with English breakfast to start the day. Special thanks to Marissa who really took the time to engage & get to know us. The whole team at Eshott Hall are a credit to the hotel & nothing was too much
