I booked to stay here with my elderly father and 10 year old daughter. It was a last minute booking . Upon arrival the lady at reception very kindly switched our house to one more suitable for my father who cannot walk far. We were also offered assistance to the pool by a very friendly man (I’m so sorry I didn’t ask for your name but you were very kind!) The résidence was so sweet & charming , the pool was lovely and clean . The house was perfect to accommodate us . I did read complaints about the bathroom.. it was small and a little camping car style but it didn’t bother us because there were so many other positives. I didn’t mind cleaning up the house after our stay either, leaving it in the same condition we found it seemed very fair to me . The value for money was also reasonable considering every else I checked last minute in Bonifacio was double the price. Thank you once again and to anyone planing on booking I hope you have a lovely time !…
The apartment was extremely small. The bathroom was a plastic cabinet without much ventilation that was put inside the apartment. There was a bad smell coming from the toilette. The internet was horrible. After a stormy night we were completly without internet access. The staff was extremely unfriendly. You have to pay extra for towels and bed sheets. There was no privacy at all. All the apartments (little houses) are very close to each other. The kitchen utensils were very basic. Some half broken cups. The only nice thing was the heated swimming pool. The worse was the unfriendly and rude staff.
Receptionist was helpful Fridge, stove and functioning WiFi were all helpful Laundry facilities close to our cottage Bathroom and shower were separated Facilities appeared new and well kept Easily found on google maps Cons: Small bathroom and shower Not enough pillows Not enough parking Given that this place is close to the woods, there were several spider webs in the front patio. My skin was full of mosquito bites when I woke up.
Nice accommodation, had to make our own bed which was suprising as was an expensive stay on the island. Clean and comfortable. Good welcome, very quiet, nice pool area but did not use any of the facilities.
We booked one night at Residence Sophia - it was a last minute booking (two days prior to arrival). We paid €209. We mentioned that we were going to be traveling with a small dog (a dachshund). Want your bed made? €6 Want to bring your dog? €5 per dog, per night (requested upon check-out “she doesn’t sleep for free, she pays”). No receipt given. Want your room to be cleaned? €35 The €35 fee is not meant as service during your stay but upon check out. We stayed there for one night (14 hours in total which included 3 hours out for dinner). Upon check in we were told to make sure to take off the bed linen before leaving and to take out the rubbish. The house we got was small but decent. Although the bathroom was more of a camper style. The lady at the check in spoke very little English. She told us to make sure to take off the bed linen before leaving and to take out the rubbish. The one who came to inspect the room at check out (for which you need to fix the time, you can’t leave as you please) spoke even less English, was rude and said that if we don’t want to pay €35, we need to clean the bathroom, clean the floor etc. What kind of place is that? Surely each room has to be cleaned by staff prior to guests’ arrival. We refused to pay but the establishment charged my card anyway! I have since tried to contact Booking.com but Residence Sophia have refused to refund us. The place itself is basic but ok. House is small with a camper style bathroom. One advantage - it was quiet. Not worth the cost though. Do not recommend this place at all. A rip off. …
My experience at Residence Sophia was terrible. We arrived in the middle of the afternoon, the gate was closed and nobody was at the reception. Luckly another guest arrived after a while and he knew the gate code so we finaly managed to get in. Then we had to call to ask for someone to come to the reception (and bear the cost of the call with roaming charges ...). Another wait and a girl arrived. She could onle speak French so communication was really a nightmare. But things were even going to get worst. We were suprised to know that we had to pay an extra € 6,00 per person to get bed linen and towels and we had to make our own beds. Amazing. And we also were informed that they would charge for the cleaning of the room, unless we do it ourselves ... The rooms were poorly maintained and poorly cleaned. in mine part of the light switches were missing and mandatory check out time was 10:00. Were there good things? Yes. Free wifi and departure for never return.…
Just 10 minutes outside of the busy Bonifacio. Great little find. Brand new development of pretty bungalows surrounded by landscaped gardens. Fully equipped with wifi, tv, private patio and panoramic swimming pool with stunning sunbathing areas. A great stay. The sister hotel includes a fabulous restaurant and spa just 5 minutes away. Very close to some of the best beaches in Corsica. Bonifacio get very busy and parking is difficult and expensive, so a great location just outside. Would recommend to anyone. Not many villas, so book early.
