We ate lobster at 2 different restaurants and we were served 2 tails with rice and salad and they were all 300 cordobas which is 12us.we ate breakfast all 4 days at the hotel restaurant.my buddy and i decided to have lobster at her restaurant our last day before we left the island that evening.we spent 320us with her, which i believe is the most anyone in months had spent with her in 4 days. Her cook brings us 2 dinner plates with one lobster tail on each plate and we believed it was a mistake, keep in mind she is charging the same as the other restaurants,
when confronted on this she starts to rant and rave how she is the only one on corn island who pays taxes and some other nonsense.the bottom line is iam going to reserve 15 rooms at another hotel for 2 weeks and i really hope she sees this review.this is a perfect example of a business owner who is penny wise and dollar foolish
The room I was in was one of the mid-range priced accommodation. $25 for a double bed, private bathroom, TV, air-condition, daily cleaning and Wifi in a house in the back part of the property. This price/quality balance is hard to beat on the islands.
The owner family as well as the lady in the kitchen were very friendly and communicative. All kinds of food were offered in the restaurant but, honestly, it was too expensive for me so I took advantage of other places nearby for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was $4, simple but delicious and the coffee was strong :)
I think within the middle of the road places Morgan's hotel is a good choice and you won't be disappointed at all staying here.
Past that - the rooms are very cheap, but for a reason. They hotel is far from everything including both restaurants, beaches, and the port to go to Little Corn. The rooms are nothing special either, although some do have A/C
On a good note, the breakfast was fairly decent, although they only offer one breakfast dish.
My recommendation: skip Big Corn and just go to Little Corn. But if you must stay on Big Corn, find somewhere closer to the port or better beaches.
the bathroom ok. the room was nice. it had cable tv, which actually came in handy after 2 days of heavy rains. during these two days of rain, there was a lot of wind, and the water came into the room beneath the doorway....
its air conditioned (but not the best in the world...) the food was goood though. they take in credict cards the view was great, we had the beachfront cabin. we didnt book this palce, we were walkins
They only served a traditional Nicaraguan breakfast which is Gallo pinto, eggs, toast and cheese. It's for $3 US, or C $90.
It's a good spot to hit up on the island beers are C $30, which is like $1 each US.
The rest of the menu is uploaded. *Remember prices are subject to change. Current as of April 2017.
Pros - Miss Carrie is very welcoming and helpful, she was fantastic at helping us get our visit to the island organized. Kitchen made the best lobster we had the entire time in the islands - definitely try the Caribbean style!
They advertise wifi but it only works if you go out of your room and sit outside. Not overly convenient.
