Graciela... She is the best woman: Strong and soft at the same time (as many of latin american women), so friendly and always trying to give you a little extra something to your menu choices that are great! And Gary...he is "The guide" by excellence, you only need 2 minutes to tune your ears and get used to his accent,... More

The Hotel is nicely located in one of the sea arms. You can swim directly from the terrace if you want and the restuarant is pretty nice. Although I wasnt impressed by the dessert (not the home made Pie). Also very small portion. The internet was a nightmare. I had to send a few emails. Took ages to get anything... More

I was so happy to have stayed here. One of the best hostels I've been to. Food was delicious and price was fine. Accommodation in the dorm was spotless The location is fabulous. My comment to Gary the owner was "You've got a nice piece of paradise here" Information about tours, buses was excellent. Boat trip to livingston and the... More

The hotel is in an idyllic setting away from boat traffic. The owners Gary and his wife Graciella are a very friendly couple with lots of helpful hints using local transport and guides. Mainly Mexican food. They have a nice dock where you can relax to have beer. nice seating lounge. We had a small bungalow. No mosquito netting. Comfortable... More

V chilled out hostel. Fantastic that it's so close to Fronteras and easy transport options and yet a world away after a five minute boat ride. We never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes for a pick up! Me and my friends shared a 4 bed bungalow. One criticism of this was that there was no door on the... More

When I first arrived at Kangaroo with my two friends, we loved it. It was a really cool place and relatively nice. Gary was so friendly and helpful with ideas for day trips and general advice. The food was pretty good. However, when we paid our tab at the end of the trip, we realized we spent ways more money... More

I had a great stay at Kangaroo, everyone it seems ends up staying longer than initially planned, me included. Gary and Graciela are happy to point you in the right direction on activities, transport and anything else you need to know, the suggested day trips were great and used local transport, shops and guides which was a nice change. The... More

Three stars might be a bit on the generous side but the nice staff made up for what the hotel lacks. We made hasty reservations without a lot of research. I thought I could survive one night anywhere. The mangrove over which the hotel is set is lovely and calm but walking on the docks feels like taking your life... More

“The bungalows were very nice if going as a couple I would definitely get one of those. I stayed in a single room, there are no windows just screens, they are still private but you will hear all the jungle noises and people.”
