My partner and I spend 2 nights at the Norwood bungalow. We had really high expectations of this hotel and I am very pleased to say that all our expectations were exceeded! I would happily give this place 6 starts if I could. Our bungalow was in the most beautiful location, right in the middle of the tea plantation, overlooking...

This was our second stay in Ceylon Tea Trails. Last time we stayed in Norwood Bungalow in Feb, 2013. And, we had a unforgettable wonderful time there... So, we decided to go back and stay in Ceylon Tea Trails again. This time we were a group of two families, 4 adults and 3 children. And, stayed in Tientsin Bungalow. We...

We arrived at Tietsin Bungalow around 230pm but they still insisted on arranging a beautiful lunch for us despite afternoon tea following soon after (then pre dinner drinks and canapes!) The level of service continued throughout out stay. Tietsin bungalow, although being next to the village, was beautiful. The fact we could hear village life and the occasional tooting from...

Thank you for your very kind review. Your "home" Tientsin Bungalow will undergo a through renovation from end April - fear not, we will ensure that its charm isn't compromised in any way, whilst guest comforts and the gardens will be improved further. I'm sure you would approve if you honour us with a return visit next year (when Tea...

This was our second visit to Tea Trails but our first visit staying at Norwood bungalow. Sanath our butler remembered us from 4 years ago when we stayed at Castlereigh which we were very impressed with. Food was superb, we loved the fact that the Chef explains the menu and they offer alternatives if you are not happy with their...

We stayed in the Tientsin Tea "bungalow", one of five within a few miles of each other. To call this place a bungalow is to undersell it because it's as beautiful, sumptuous, and well run a hotel as I have ever been in. We had an enormous bedroom and living room, a "butler" button with which we could summon the...

The Ceylon Tea Trails have a number of old style colonial bungalows (4?) close to Hatton in a major tea producing area. We stayed in Tientsin and didn't see the other ones which are several miles away. Prices are, by Sri Lankan standards, expensive but the big advantage is that everything is included. Our laundry was done, drinks are available...

Without any doubt one of the most magical places we ever visited. Beautifully set in the hills above a small lake and surrounded by the tea plantations. We stayed in the Castlereagh bungalow which felt like home. The staff is outstanding and the chef excellent and very imaginative. The grounds are beautiful and the garden is manicured. Everything is just...

I'll kick off with the bad okay? The road in is an absolute nightmare. Not fun at all. We travelled by coach from Tangalle (they all said 5 hours) but it was 7 hours and change. By the time of arrival (after dark and in the dreary rain) my kidneys and back hurt from the constant battering of a roading...

I was so excited to be going to Ceylon Tea Trails - it was to be the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka (and probably still was). Make no mistake, it's expensive to stay here but it is all inclusive including your laundry (not dry cleaning). The only thing they charge for is running you a special bath as...

'Norwood Bungalow', one of the very special colonial era (still existing now as a guesthouse) estates within the Ceylon Tea Trails accommodation, offered our group of 14 (half of our group stayed at Tsientein Bungalow) one of our favorite experiences in Sri Lanka. The bungalow is set overlooking a stunning mountain view, offers some of the most luxurious and comfortable...
