My wife and I stayed at Cape Weligama for two nights over the last weekend to celebrate a part of our honeymoon. We have visited Resplendent Ceylon Wild coast a few times before this, so was eager to visit this property despite the negative comments we had heard about it. The property is situated in a stunning location and the views from different areas of the resort were breathtaking. My wife and I wanted to highlight how much we enjoyed the food and the drinks at the hotel. Every single meal we had was very good. Ruwen and Sanka from the restaurant attended to all our needs and truly went out of their way to accommodate our every request. However, we were quite upset about one thing that happened to us during our stay. On our way to lunch we asked for our room AC to be fixed because it was not working. When we came back It was still not fixed. An engineering team was sent to our room and their response was " this is how the AC works, the hotel is a bit busy today so this is all the central AC can put out". One of our friends joined us on this trip for the second night and we went to their room to see if their room had the same issue, however their room AC was working far better than ours. Later we asked for the engineering team again but this time with our villa host Sherom. Even he visited the room and acknowledged that the room AC wasn't cooling. However the response to the issue by the team was for us to open the doors in the toilet and the room and let the toilet AC cool the room. Unfortunately this was a really bad experience for us. A room change was not even suggested to us by them and I don't think even the GM was informed about this. It was really unfortunate that this happened to us because we enjoyed everything else in the property but coming back to a room with a broken AC in this heat was not a pleasent experience. We were up most of the night due to the heat. However, great property, excellent food and great service by the restaurant staff but I feel like our issue should have been handled much better.

We spent our honeymoon in Sri Lanka in May 2021 and were lucky enough to have Cape Weligama be our first stop. From the moment you arrive you are treated as a VIP. We were so grateful for the kind and attentive assistance of Venura – he made our stay all the better. In addition to the excellent service, you are surrounded by beautiful vistas, luxuriously-appointed accommodations, and culinary excellence. From start to finish - there was nothing that was not wonderful about Cape Weligama. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

We were lucky to stay here for 8 days - from New Years Eve onwards. It is physically breathtaking, the food and drink and facilities are superb but what marks it as truly special is the warmth and care of the staff - our butler Shehan, the lovely GM Heleem, Chef (who also gave our daughter a cooking class) and everyone else across the property who made us feel at home. We saw amazing fireworks, rainbows and a very friendly peacock! And the surf and ocean views are spectacular. One of the best places we have ever stayed and one we want to return to as soon as possible. Cannot recommend it enough. Just go!

Our recent stay at Cape Weligama was our fourth within a period of 3 years. Despite very challenging times, the hotel offered us the best it could offered: pristine service, very good food and a true enchantment. And the view over the ocean, what a view! The staff is amazing. Every single guest is treated as a VIP. If one day it happens you are looking to travel to Sri Lanka, make sure you visit Cape Weligama. You won't be disappointed.

Absolutely wonderful place! Excellent rooms, great service and super yummy food. Their Tableau experience is top notch! I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a luxurious, pampering stay. And definitely remember to try their floating breakfast - such a treat! Special thanks for General Manager Roshan for looking after us so well!
