Would like to say thank you to all personnel at Marriott Weligama hotel for our wonderful holidays! Very hospitable and attentive approach to all guests. We stayed for 2 weeks with a kid 5 y.o. The hotel is perfect: great location (especially for surf lovers), great food (seafood, fish, fruits), stunning view (you just say WOW when you enter the room) and amazing people working at the hotel. For our little boy they cooked separately fish (with no spices). Would definitely love to come back!
We recently returned from another two-night stay at this homely hotel by the seaside with the traditional Sri Lankan hospitality well-known to all who visit Sri Lanka. This was our second time staying here within the last five months. Ms Chathurika who recognizes us from our last visit went out of her way in assisting us in getting the best services during our stay with WBSR. Also, my special thanks go to Ms Chathurika for the professional therapeutic touch that I had received relieving the trauma from my post-surgery, which ops my wife and me to re-book the spa even on this visit. We had a half inclusive board package and didn't go wrong. Chef Mr Isuru, who has been introduced once again through Ms Chathurika did an extraordinary Crab dish with a northern flavour that is very delicious and memorable; and the variety choice is unbelievable, whereas my wife loves it the most and decided to come again without any hesitation. And the restaurant team are around the corner to spoil you with the special requests from the perfect food choice from the region in Weligama Kitchen; both Kalpini and Thuwan made us feel very welcome. Our trip was memorable because of the impeccable service the staff at Weligama Bay Resort rendered to us. If you like being treated like family and enjoying the spa, surf, sunshine, and perfect food, come to this hotel.…
This was our 3rd trip to the Weligama Bay Marriott, and will not be our last. In short, everything about our stay was first rate. The food was excellent at the Weligama Kitchen restaurant (their buffet restaurant). As in past trips, the chefs asked us daily if there was anything that they could make for us (on top of all of the buffet dishes). We took advantage of this and my wife and lobster and cuttle-fish and crab curry. A special shout out to the entire staff at the Weligama kitchen who did an amazing job in preparing great food, greeting guests and waiting tables. Every part of the hotel was clean - from our room to the pool, the lobby, and the gym. My wife wanted to do a spa treatment, and enjoyed it so much that she went back for a second with Sheila at the Quan spa who was amazing. All the staff were friendly, and attentive. While I don't believe that this is a reflection on the hotel, I would desribe the beach as good but not great. You can certainly see some debris/litter on the beach, and it would be nice if the town or private businesses made more effort to keep it cleaner. While we were there, there also appeared to be a large black spot (about 50m x 50m) in the water on the beach. My best guess is that it was some floating oil. It made swimming in the ocean unappealing, although I did see others swimming and surfing nearby. Notwithstanding the above, we would certainly go back. I would mention specific staff, but all were friendly, and are too numerous to mention.…
Wonderful evening !! I was amazed by the delicious food, beautiful sea and the view and unforgettable hospitality of the the staff. I must specially remember chef saman, chef pujitha, and the most friendly staff in the surf's up pool bar , manoj, rasanga, miran and the team. Thank you for the nice experience, we will visit you soon again 😍
Even with the country in turmoil, this resort gave us unforgettable experience. Our rooms were immaculately clean and complete with stylish decor. The resort has been blessed with a breathtaking beach, which I'm happy to say they've kept in pristine condition. We were constantly greeted and pampered by one of the friendliest and well-trained staff I have seen at the large resort. Particular memorable members were Sanjeewa and Nazmi, from the restaurant, who made sure all our needs were well catered for. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a retreat that's sure to leave them feeling satisfied, relaxed and not wanting to leave!
Honestly a Marriott is a Marriott. The difference here is the Sri Lankan and Indian staff and people, all of who were amazing. Chefs Deepak and Roshan with their entire team have made this stay great! I recommend you come and visit these guys and all the other local people that make this hotel what it is. Other Marriott take note! Thanks!!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa. We were greeted with a smile at the entrance and the check in process was very smooth. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. The view from the room was amazing! and we spent hours on the balcony soaking it all in. We loved the pool and our 4 year old son loved the water slide. The beach was clean and lively - we enjoyed a long stroll along the beach every afternoon. There is a general positive buzz around the hotel which we found to be refreshing. The food was amazing with a wide range of choices at the buffet. The drinks were reasonably priced and the service was amazing. In particular, the restaurant manager Sanjeeva, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, fed and watered. On what was a particularly fuzzy night for our 4 year old son, Sanjeeva went back to the kitchen to come back with an especially made pizza which our son (and us) appreciated and enjoyed. He also arranged a special surprise for my mothers birthday at breakfast one morning, which clearly took some effort to arrange and made my mother feel very special. The facilities offered by a hotel are futile if the service is poor, and we felt Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa ticked both boxes (especially due to Sanjeeva's efforts but also the wider team). We had a fantastic stay at the Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa and would definitely come back the next time we are in Sri Lanka. (Countdown starts now...)…
This is our second stay at the property and it still had the same warmth that was there the last time. The food was amazing and the the service was perfect . And we would like to thank Judy. She was super supportive and she was providing us assistance for everything right throughout the stay. She made sure to keep all our requirements and mind and provide a personalized service. She is an asset to the company
Been at Marriott Weligama for seven nights. Been there was a oasis of calm and good vibe. Specially thanks for the director of rooms Jasvir Belwal hwo make our late check out very confortable and complimentary. The view from the hotel room was awesome. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choices.
Beautiful rooms with ocean view, very good breakfast and dinner and friendly staff! Special thanks to Pamuditha (the best waiter we’ve ever met) and to bartenders in the bar (really nice guys who make delicious cocktails). A location is also good - clean beach, not very big waves so you can swim as well as trying surfing (we are beginners).
