Wow. Well, at least it was clean. Freak weather suddenly hit Phonsavan, and the room turned into an ice box! With loads of gaps in the walls and the cold air gushing through the CLOSED windows, there was no-one to ask for a spare blanket. Too cold to sleep. No hot water. No wifi in the rooms. Rubbish location. No breakfast.

Скромный гестхауз, рассчитанный на местных. Персонал по-английски не говорит. Сам номер весьма чистый. Учитывая цену весьма приемлемо. На момент бронирования был самый дешевый вариант для одноместного размещения. Вентиляционное отверстие из номера в коридор. В декабре в номере прохладно. Расположен отель немного вдалеке от туристического района или центра населенного пункта (не знаю как в Пхонсаване можно назвать место с основным скоплением гестхаузов, парой турагенств, нескольких точек с арендой байков и пунктом отправления минивэнов в крупные города Лаоса), придется прогуляться минут 15-20. Если же идти в противоположенную сторону, то также через минут 20 можно дойти до официального местного автовокзала. Wi-fi был очень медленным

We booked the Ber 5 due to the rating by a previous reviewer. We found the Ber 5 down a side street off the main road though Phonsavan, a long way from the "action". The receptionist was not very helpful. She showed us our room. No air-con (which we knew) but the fan wasn't a ceiling fan it was on the wall. We were concerned that we wouldn't be cool enough in there. The whole hotel and the room in particular is grubby. The bed was hard and the blanket smelled. We moved on to a much better hotel. We offered this room to our driver as he had to find somewhere to stay. He accepted.
