David and Sakhone are great hosts. We felt very welcome. Our group of eight enjoyed the generous breakfast and dinner. The guided tours were tailored to our needs. The rooms are simple and comfortable. We were collected from the airport and David also dropped us off to various places as well as collecting us after a night out in town. Lovely service.
Excellent quality rooms, outstanding service, quiet location, delicious food, information and personal tours on offer. The owner really goes above and beyond to make the guests feel part of the family.
Comfortable and nicely decorated rooms, a large table to share delicious meals and hearty breakfasts, and above all the warmest welcome possible from David and from his wife Sakhone. David and Sakhone know their region perfectly and they are happy to inform you and share the best places to visit. Sakhone can guide you during beautiful days of visit. Definitively the best place to stay in Phonsavan.
Ideal for visit to the Plain of Jars. David is an ideal host helpful and friendly we felt very much at home. Very nice breakfast, you dine together with other guests. We cannot recommend staying here more highly.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Pukyo, & hanging out laughing with owner David. He was a most gracious host, knowledgeable, set us up for amazing tours & had freezing cold beers ready when needed! We will stay here when we return to Phonsavanh & cannot thank David enough for making our visit so memorable!!😍
Which an adorable guesthouse. David, the host makes so much time for his guests and gives so much information about Laos. So interesting. The rooms are spacious and clean. And what's very important in laos they are quiet, no noises from outside (no cars, roasters, market noises, ....). We also joined the daytrips through Phonsovan offered by the guesthouses, and they were also very lovely. I would recommend this guesthouse to everyone!
The highlight of the stay in Phonsavan was the wonderful and attentive service from the owner and manager of the Pukyo guesthouse, David. He went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable with oodles of great information, a pick up at the airport, rides into town in the evening as well as renting out mopeds to go visit the plain of jars. On top of all that, the breakfast was delicious and ample. Highly recommend.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. David was so welcoming and went above and beyond, it felt like coming home. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic. Rooms are very clean and a great size, beds are comfy. They offer great tours at very reasonable prices which were a great highlight. Very interesting and informative. David knows a lot about the local area and is passionate about it, he provided great recommendations for everything we could ask for. In 7 months of travel through Asia this was one of our most memorable and favorite stays.
Having stayed here 3 times now, can't fault this charming place,I use guest houses regularly with my work in Laos which makes me very picky as I have had many bad experiences with rooms etc,Pukyo for me is perfect. David and his family are charming and generous hosts, nothing is too much trouble, just ask.looking forward to my next stay there very soon.. 👍🙏
I didn’t use their guesthouse for an overnight stay, but I did go on a tour of the Plain of Jars Site 1 with Sakhone (one of the owners). We live in Phonsavanh so we’ve visited the Plain of Jars many times, but we learned new things from Sakhone that we would have never learned from always going on our own.
