We were recommended to stay here by another traveller, upon arrival we were glad we took their advice. The room was great with an amazing view of the river and countryside beyond. We found vang vieng to be lovely and quiet with some great walks. A good place to stop in between vientiane and luang prabang.

When I came to stay at the Elephant Crossing, I couldn't help but feel that somehow the love and care with which it was set up were somehow gone. There were cobwebs along the stairs, the lamps were dusty and old and the unused rooms on the top floor looked badly run down and were used to store old mattresses...

The Elephant Crossing hotel in Vang Vieng really is a home away from home. With spectacular views of the mountains along the Nom Sok river it's such a peaceful place to relax and the staff are so accommodating by the time you leave you'll feel like family.

We stayed here only for a night. Was amazed by the river and limestone karst view. Marvelous. However, room is old, not much amenities and there is a dead bug hidden under my kids blanket, not nice to see for a reputable hotel. Breakfast at the deck is fantastic, nice spread and fantastic view.

Booked in here, but arrived to find the only available rooms had doors to deck that didn't close, rubber door and window seals that hung from nail points - read: gaps of 2-5 mm around every window or door and no mosquito nets! Now, I don't mind roughing it, and for a picturesque, well situated property with river views like...

If you want an amazing view of the sunset from your balcony, or to enjoy breakfast sitting on top of the river, then this is a great option. While on the more pricey side of places, the room was clean and fine for a night or two. Staff were friendly, and the breakfast was quite good. Australian couple are care...

Stayed here two nights in a room overlooking the river on the third floor. Room was small and bathroom was not great, shower pressure was low and hard to get temperature right. We had a few bugs and ants in our room even though the doors were always shut. The view from the balcony was amazing though. We had lunch...

From the time we arrived at the reception desk of the hotel, we knew we found a beautiful place to stay. We (my husband and myself and another Aussie couple) had just survived the seven hour winding bus trip from Luang Prabang and we were in need of some tlc. This hotel had been recommended to us by friends and...
