Lovely and very special experience; be advised that the price is not commensurate with the quality of the accommodations due to the historical nature of the facility. It is still worth the splurge for a once in a life-time experience if you can afford it. Glad we did it but probably wouldn't stay there again. Do not plan to eat... More

The setting here is gorgeous. Husband and I stayed in a cottage which was huge and comfortable (although it was cold and rainy outside and could have heated more quickly). Yosemite is such a beautiful place and the hotel is a great place to enjoy it. The restaurant while beautiful is not worth the money.

it is a beautiful building and the surroundings are awesome...a bit overpriced and some of the "details" could have been better for the price you pay. worth doing once for the experience. We were there to celebrate my Mother's 90th birthday.

What can I say about the the place...other than excellent or awesome. The hotel dates back to 1927 and retains that old world charm, but has been periodically refurbished over the last near century. The place has a Frank Lloyd Wright feel about it. The lobby areas and dining hall are just amazing....worth seeing even if you do not stay... More

I have been going to Yosemite Valley since a child and this year my wife and I decided to go to this historic hotel for our 30th wedding anniversary. Located in a beautiful setting in one of the nations most beautiful national parks, this icon was first built in 1927. We found the old time charm of it appealing. We... More

Dear Tim1177, Thank you for taking the time to post your review of your recent visit. While I am happy to read that you found the staff and the food to be excellent, I sincerely apologize that you found the WiFi horrible and the Dining Room reservation system antiquated. It is true that the WiFi and cell reception in Yosemite... More

This was the first time staying at the Ahwahnee. We have been to Yosemite several times many years ago but have always wanted to stay at the famous Ahwahnee. We were captivated by the majesty of the surroundings and the timelessness of the building itself. We stayed in one of the cabins adjacent to the hotel and felt that we... More

This may not be a 5 star hotel in the big city sense, but from a rustic high country sense, there are few like it... The food is good and edges up to great when you have been eating food out of a freeze dried package for a week or two! this is an airy and lovely spot... elegant and... More

I went here to check out for future stay. Wasn't impressed by servers, menu at grill, their ability to seat more than a few outside tables for food and drink. Beautiful grounds at lodge. Unimpressed by shops. Presently staying at the Evergreen lodge. Do yourself a favor, unless stuffy is your thing, try somewhere else

Dear Frank C, I am disappointed to read that you were unimpressed with our servers, menu and shops as well as found us stuffy during your recent visit. I am hoping you would be so kind as to provide me with more information as to why you were unimpressed. The more detail we have, the better we can address deficiencies.... More

The Ahwahnee experience is amazing. Our room had amazing views of the valleys icons. Sightseeing in the area was always a new adventure with the wildlife, towering redwoods, beautiful flowering dogwood trees and the Merced river. The waterfalls in the area are a plus in the springtime. The dining room is first class and the staff is there to go... More
