Our family of 4 (2 adults, 17 & 14 y/o daughters) stayed here for 2 nights in a 3 bed Roughrider Cabin (#52) and loved it! It was definitely our favorite area of the park. We did not mind not having a bathroom in the cabin as the bathrooms were very clean and provided the necessary amenities. We woke up...

We stayed in Roosevelt for our last two nights in Yellowstone. The cabins were cute, comfortable and a true rustic feeling. My boys loved the adventure and using the fire to heat the room was a great adventure for them. The bathrooms were a bit of a walk, but closer than when camping, and were quite clean. Having the shampoo,...

We have stayed here five times now -in either a Roughrider or Frontier cabin. Simple basic accommodation but if you want to see wildlife this is the place to stay. We went on a cookout again -3rd visit. Again a great outing. Fabulous food, and cowboy coffee! Huge steak and lots of Apple crisp. If you want wildlife and a...

Our first stay in the cabins at Roosevelt. Managed to get 2 night in a Frontier cabin with private bathroom. Small & clean. Only complaint .... No coffee. We were up and out early, before lodge had coffee available, so husband was not too happy! Great lunch at the Lodge, probably best food we had in the park. A little...

Was able to stay here one night. This is great if you can make it through the night without a potty. The cabins are beautiful and quaint. Comfortable beds, with a wood heater stove. The elk wander around the cabins. The restrooms and showers are separate from the rooms and are very clean and work very well. We much preferred...

This was the highlight of our stay in Yellowstone. The quaint cabins had clean comfy beds and a woodstove! The clean showers and bathrooms were just a few steps away. We grilled out by the stream. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about local wildlife and fishing places. I would love to go back!

I was going to write a review and then read the review written by Teamwanderlust, which sums up the Rough rider cabins pretty accurately. Barebones, but an excellent location without the heavy traffic other areas receive. And very clean. We, too, stayed there for its access to the Lamar Valley. Although we don't have children, the chuck wagon cookout, the...

Stayed one night at a rough rider cabin. The cabin seemed to have been renovated quite recently and was nice and clean. The wood fired stove creates a cozy atmosphere. When I came the bucket with wood pellets was placed on top of the stove. This is a fire hazard if guests don't remove it before using the stove. The...

Inside the cabin was clean and everything we needed to spend the night after going to the Western Cook Out which was enjoyable. This was a recently renovated cabin. This area is very remote and doesn't offer as much as the other lodging areas in the park.

My last minute decision to ride to Yellowstone and the Beartooth Highway over Independence Day Weekend resulted in not many choices for accommodations. The pickings were slim and I ended up in a Rough Rider Cabin for one night. I guess after a few decades in the military, it was pretty easy for me to adjust to this type of...
