I liked very little about our night at Roosevelt, even though I camp regularly. Our cabins weren't very convenient to the restrooms, and I had no idea how cold they would get. Maybe it was my own ignorance, but I struggled with those duralogs all night. First I got it so hot that I had to open the windows for...

My daughter and I stayed here for two nights while touring around Yellowstone. We also stayed in the Old Faithful Cabins, which I liked a little better. We did not have a bathroom in our cabin, but the restrooms were close and clean. We never had to wait for a shower or to use the sink. There was a stove...

I know the Roosevelt Lodge is much-beloved, but I'm not sure why. Our cabin (with bath and heat) was rather primitive (and ant-ridden) and cramped, but fine, but nothing special (plain whitewashed interior; the same picture used twice on the walls!). The lodge building (just a short walk) is charming enough, and dining there, and just rocking on the porch,...

Absolutely freezing cabins in mid August. There are in room fireplaces but they don't do much when there are gaps in the logs in the walls. The shared bathrooms are clean. The lake lodge has much better, and insulted cabins. However Roosevelt has a great dining room...

We stayed in frontier cabin #87 and then #78. These cabins have a private bathroom inside. The cabins are very simple and small. The beds were a bit saggy. But they serve their purpose. The walk to the lodge is very short and the setting is very nice, compared to other cabins we stayed in (Old Faithful Snow Lodge and...

We loved our night in the Roosevelt Lodge Cabins. Vintage original decor. Walk up to lodge for drinks and dinner. Shared bath facilities were good. Nice they were heated. Overall great experience which added to our Yellowstone experience. Hint keep checking your dates wanted daily as cancellations appear. Use Xanterras direct booking site for immediate verified bookings.

Half hour wait with five empty tables, didn't get a refill on pop until he brought us our bill! Poor service, poor food! Hostess seemed a bit annoyed with customers who were cranky with the long wait! I saw her rolling her eyes at one point! However in her defense the guy ahead of me was very rude!

My wife and I wanted to view and get photos of the wolves. After three visits to Yellowstone without success, we decided to rough it in a cabin at Roosevelt Lodge because it was closer to Lamar Valley where wolves are most commonly seen. We made the right decision and enjoyed viewing many wolves including playful and hilarious pups. We...

We stayed here two nights, and were overall pleased that we did. The roughrider cabins are tiny, and while our room was tidy, our door had cracks large enough to see daylight through - and even in August it was freezing at night. We had planned ahead and brought extra sleeping bags (my son has asthma, so the wood stove...

The cabins and restaurant facilities were kept very clean. It is a bit primitive. If you are not accustomed to camping, you might want to stay in a facility with indoor plumbing. LOL. However, if accustomed to roughing it, it is a great place to stay with plenty of wildlife.
